The Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs) is looking for a Network Management Systems Administrator to provide research support administration services for our government customer in Pensacola, Florida .

DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide DHA compliant administrative services used by Local Area Network (LAN) devices to include DHCP, SNMP, VLAN, SSH, IP address assignment and routing protocols, monitoring and automation.
  • Develop and train privileged users in procedures to support the transition from Cisco Systems equipment to Ruckus Networks equipment and for projected changes to equipment at remote locations.
  • Perform root cause analysis of network-related connectivity issues (firewall rule modifications, deconflicting MedCOI enterprise network changes, IP packet capture, etc.)
  • Design and maintain Network Topology and Zone Mapping Diagrams of all Navy Medicine Operational Training Command (NMOTC) locations to include virtual machine operations, physical interconnections, logical data flow diagrams, and building wiring maps.
  • Maintain lifecycle management of all network hardware to include asset accountability, perform periodic inventory inspections and documentation of all enterprise location network device assets.
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for network devise configuration, refine procedures and documentation as changes are implemented.
  • MedCOI LAN management to include:
    • Administer, maintain and update all LAN transport devices to ensure connectivity to all NMOTC Pensacola endpoints to include End-User and System administrator Workstations, Hosted Applications, servers, Databases, Printers, Door Security Systems, Clinical Diagnostic Devises, and Network Management Appliances.
    • Maintain Subject-Matter Expertise (SME) in the operation of Ruckus Networks equipment.
    • Adapt MedCOI LAN to evolving technology packages and standards set forth by Defense Health Agency.
    • Expand MedCOI LAN as needed to support the evolving requirements of the NMOTC and its subordinate detachments.
    • Monitor MedCOI network performance and operation.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve MedCOI network outages.
  • WLAN management to include:
    • Design, implement, and administer WLAN transport methods, after consultation on equipment selection, location, and approval to execute installation of devices and Wireless Access Points for compliant connectivity to all Wireless Clients.
    • Maintain SME in the operation of Ubiquiti Networks equipment.
    • Expand WLAN as needed to support the evolving requirements of the NMOTC and its subordinate detachments.
    • Perform updates to all WLAN devices.
    • Monitor Wireless network performance and operation.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve Wireless network outages.
  • Network Security to include the following:
    • Develop network security control procedures based on Security Requirements set forth by the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), Defense Health Agency (DHA), and local NMOTC policies.
    • Implement security controls, monitor, and respond to security alerts, analyze current technology packages for vulnerabilities and exposures on all network devices.
    • Utilize the Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) suite to perform weekly vulnerability scanning and compliance checks on the Med COI network.
    • Submit periodic report of compliance with established security procedures and policies.
    • Monitor cybersecurity information channels to observe the latest developments in vulnerabilities, exploits, and countermeasures.
    • Support the development, documentation, and maintenance of IT Systems Standard Process and Procedures Manuals, Operations, and Administration procedures that meet requirements and adhere to defined policies.
  • Physical-Layer Media Management to include the following:
    • Design, implement, specify, install and repair physical media (Twisted-Pair Ethernet cabling, patch panels, optic fiber, cable paths & conduit) to enable and maintain network connectivity throughout NMOTC multi-building campus within the NMOTC buildings & offices, and required interfaces outside NMOTC enclave boundary.
    • Collaborate with NMOTC Facilities Department, NAS Pensacola Base Communication Office, and external entities to request and utilize resources outside of NMOTC control to achieve physical connectivity.
    • Perform ethernet cabling and/or port installation and wall jack services as needed.
  • Server Room and Communications Room Maintenance, to include the following:
    • Monitor physical security, safety, and environmental conditions.
    • Submit work orders to NMOTC Facilities Department/NAS Pensacola Public Works Department to correct deficiencies.
    • Maintain physical access controls to entry is limited to authorized personnel.
    • Escort and log visitors into secured spaced.
    • Perform cable patching and maintain equipment installed into secure spaces.
    • Install on-premises server hardware, network device hardware, environmental monitoring hardware, and Uninterruptable Power Supply hardware.
  • SME for Special Projects, to include the following:
    • Support the expansion of the NMOTC physical area boundary on NAS Pensacola.
    • Support NMOTC activities located away from U.S. Military installations to implement remote network solutions.
    • Collaborate with Facilities and Base Communications staff to provide expanded/enhanced network capabilities required (computer imaging stations, vulnerability mitigations, equipment relocations, etc.)
    • Collaborate on large-scale project planning (establishing new office spaces, adding new device categories to existing network, etc.)
    • Evaluating new technology packages and advising senior IT staff on the network-related matters involved.
  • Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM) Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) Compliance, to include the following:
    • Perform Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) scanning to identify vulnerabilities in the network infrastructure and End User Device (EUD) footprint.
    • Utilize PowerShell to develop and deploy scripts to monitor and mitigate security vulnerabilities in Operating Software (OS) and software packages installed on system.
    • Stay up to date with cybersecurity advisories, vulnerability databases, and best practices to effectively manage and mitigate vulnerabilities.
    • Ensure ACAS benchmarks and scans, STIGs and Checklists, DISA Security Compliance Checker (SCC) Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) Scanning Utilities and all A&A artifacts are provided at the agreed upon schedule. Prioritize network device and systems management IAVMs per compliance requirements and by industry standards of closing within 72 hours of published notification or provide mitigation strategy to NMTOC ISSM with weekly progress reports until vulnerability is sufficiently closed.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

Bachelor's degree in network administration with ten (10) years of experience in Information Technology (IT)

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Knowledge and experience performing network systems administration tasks and to include analyzing system logs and completing system documentation when resolving network management issues.
  • Knowledge and experience equipment configuration and maintenance of network system protocols using SSH, com port, Radius or HTTP/HTTPS, physical cabling, and switching/routing (L1/2/3) network administration technologies, regardless of manufacturer.
  • Knowledge and experience in the management and operations of LAN/WLAN equipment from various third-party vendors or applications to include but not limited to Cisco, Ruckus, Juniper, Forescout, and Ubiquiti.
  • Experience in planning, installing, and managing commercial wireless systems.
  • Knowledge and experience in designing and configuring training classrooms and providing network support for project both locally and for remote sites.

  • Must have an active Top Secret clearance
