Northern Technologies Group (NTG) is seeking a skilled CCNA Network Engineer to support the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) program. The successful candidate will provide network engineering and administration services to ensure optimal performance, security, and operational effectiveness for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA).

Northern Technologies Group (NTG) is seeking a skilled CCNA Network Engineer to support the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) program. The successful candidate will provide network engineering and administration services to ensure optimal performance, security, and operational effectiveness for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA).
Responsibilities:
- Network Administration Services:
- Build, support, administer, maintain, patch, and respond to incidents.
- Recover from service degradations and outages across all network capabilities.
- Manage network incidents, assets, and services.
- Network Services Delivery:
- Operate and maintain wired and wireless Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) infrastructures.
- Administer DNS, DHCP, NAT, PAT, network access controls, boundary security management, load balancing, VLANs, and VPN.
- Configure and manage network devices including switches, routers, firewalls, VPN concentrators, wireless access points, and load balancers.
- IPv6 Migration:
- Assist in the enterprise transition to IPv6.
- Support prioritization and load-balance network traffic.
- Configure network monitoring tools to display network performance and health reporting statistics.
- Network Monitoring and Maintenance:
- Deploy and maintain network monitoring tools.
- Assist in developing, updating, publishing, and maintaining physical and logical network diagrams.
- Execute SOPs for testing, validating, and reporting the operational status of the network infrastructure.
- WAN Infrastructure Management:
- Assist in delivering, operating, and maintaining WAN infrastructure between Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) circuits and the LAN infrastructure.
- Support WAN circuit provisioning and lifecycle management.
- Commercial Internet Networks:
- Operate and maintain MDA commercial internet networks and infrastructure.
- Recommend alternative options to improve service capability and reduce management resources.
- Remote Access Services:
- Operate and maintain wireless infrastructure, services, and devices.
- Administer VoIP, VoSIP services, analog phone systems, call managers, and related infrastructure.
- Configuration Management:
- Maintain a Configuration Management Plan (CMP) for hardware and software assets.
- Assist in creating and maintaining real-time operational drawings of logical and physical configurations and topographies.
- Cyberspace Operations:
- Support Defensive Cyber Operations (DCO-IDM).
- Assist in protecting, detecting, analyzing, mitigating threats, and responding to unauthorized activities.
- Review cybersecurity policies and develop recommendations for changes.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Certification: CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in network engineering and administration.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in network protocols and services (DNS, DHCP, NAT, PAT, VLANs, VPN).
- Expertise in configuring and managing network devices (switches, routers, firewalls, VPN concentrators, wireless access points, load balancers).
- Experience with IPv6 migration and network monitoring tools.
- Understanding of WAN infrastructure and circuit provisioning.
- Knowledge of commercial internet networks and remote access services.
- Knowledgeable in OSPF, ISIS, BGP, ISE, Cisco DNA (Catalyst Center), SD-WAN, SD-ACCESS, multi-cast.
- Knowledgeable in managing firewalls, including Cisco, Palo Alto, and Fortinet.
- Security Clearance: Must possess a SECRET clearance with the ability to obtain higher levels as required.
- Other Requirements:
- Familiarity with DoD, DoD CIO, OSD, JS, and MDA guidance, policies, and standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and coordinate with various stakeholders.
Special Requirements:
- Security: Must adhere to MDA and military base security policies. Submission of a Local Agency Check (LAC) and National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) is mandatory.
- Travel: Limited to authorized and approved purposes. Pre-authorization is required for all travel.
