Job Description Summary:

The Microfabrication Planner/Scheduler will be an operationally critical player in the microfab, which develops and manufactures next-generation and application-specific sensors and devices.

The microfab focuses on inertial MEMs, but also develops solutions leveraging photonics, microfluidics, novel materials and 3D integration, including interposer and wafer level packaging (WLP) concepts.

The Microfabrication Planner/Scheduler will be responsible for developing the detailed schedules and plans related to production execution and material procurement. They interact heavily cross-functionally with Programs, Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, and Operations to ensure microfabrication execution commitments will be met on time and budget for Draper's customers.

The Planner/Scheduler will be responsible for working with the Microfab Production Manager on the planning and scheduling of production and research/development wafers to ensure timely delivery and optimal utilization of fab resources (equipment, labor and materials). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in production planning within a semiconductor or MEMS fabrication environment, understanding or experience in the startup, configuration and implementation of a Manufacturing Execution System (MES), excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced setting.

Job Description:

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Develops detailed schedules, material requirements lists and production plans for complex products and/or production processes where the manufacturing processes are new and/or variable.
  • Reviews engineering plans and product specifications to determine raw material requirements to support manufacturing schedules.
  • Works with Supply Chain to obtain and schedule materials based on production forecasts.
  • Works with Engineering and related design areas to develop tools and procedures to maximize facility and equipment utilization.
  • May provide work leadership for lower level employees (but no supervisory responsibility)
  • Plan and report on high visibility priority programs requiring detailed procurement requirements and schedule adherence
  • Perform inventory analysis and launch purchase requisitions within MRP.
  • Create Purchase requisitions, if required, in ERP.
  • Interface with internal customers to convey obsolescence and lead time issues.
  • Provide input to a cross-functional team at Production meetings.
  • Develop and distribute production schedules to key stakeholders.
  • Ensures timely flow of material from receipt to factory floor.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Skills/Abilities

  • Curiosity-driven approach to solving complex, customer-driven problems as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively and openly with multi-disciplinary program team members, program leadership, and non-technical personnel.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products; Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Working knowledge of Operations and ERP systems
  • Working knowledge of FAR/ DFAR, ITAR and ISO requirements.
  • Be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to balance multiple competing tasks and demands.


Education
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, a related field or equivalent experience

Experience
3-7 years production planning experience, including a thorough knowledge of a variety of manufacturing activities including purchasing, materials, engineering and production processes.
