Description
SAIC is seeking a Model Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) Chief to support the AF TENCAP HOPE 2.0 contract. The AF TENCAP HOPE 2.0 contract bridges intelligence community collection architectures, capabilities, and technologies with DoD operational and tactical requirements. This effort will deliver rapid, innovative, and cost-effective capabilities to meet warfighter needs, and will include bringing national capabilities to bear cross all warfighting domains spanning intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, combat applications, battlespace awareness, command and control, multi-level security and mission programs. This next generation approach shall employ the latest advancements in geolocation and tagging, sensor and data fusion, unconventional / asymmetric warfare, situational awareness, cyberspace and spectrum warfare, large data analytics, data lake, jamming technologies, sensor technologies, geo-registration to deliver a cutting-edge approach.
The MBSE Chief leverages advanced MBSE principles and the SAIC ReadyOne DE Ecosystem to ensure successful prototype development, evaluation, and transition. They deliver capabilities individually for a specific engineering domain, connect engineering data to create a digital thread and provide a complete DE ecosystem for open and transparent collaboration,
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in systems engineering with a deep understanding of MBSE methodologies. As the MBSE Chief, you will lead and mentor teams of engineers using the SAIC ReadyOne DE Ecosystem to document, design, simulate, and validate complex system architectures. You will ensure system designs align with functional, performance, and operational requirements, championing MBSE and systems engineering principles tailored for each TENCAP project.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Target salary range: $200,001 - $240,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.

Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize the SAIC ReadyOne DE Ecosystem, including Aras Innovator and Cameo EA, to create an authoritative source of truth that supports the rapid development and acceptance of prototypes.
- Design and validate complex system architectures, ensuring all elements are integrated coherently and aligned with program requirements.
- Conduct fit/gap analysis and technology evaluations to address evolving needs and support prototype development.
- Create detailed models and Digital Twins of key systems and components.
- Utilize advanced simulation tools to analyze performance metrics, explore design alternatives, and assess feasibility.
- Conduct system analysis to identify weaknesses, perform trade-off analyses, and provide solutions to improve system design.
- Validate prototypes against operational scenarios and ensure alignment with mission objectives.
- Document and report system engineering processes, while managing the creation of analysis plans, coordinating team progress, and delivering updates to stakeholders, including technical reports, lessons learned, engineering drawings, and integration insights.
- Lead and mentor engineers in adopting MBSE and systems engineering principles, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Active Top Secret Clearance with ability to obtain a TS/SCI
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
- 18 Years of Experience in an Engineering Discipline.
- 5 years of experience in System Engineering of Classified DoD/IC Systems.
- 5 Years of experience with Digital Engineering Tools (e.g. Aras Innovator, Cameo EA, Rhapsody, SolidWorks, STK, DOORs, MATLAB, Azure DevOps)
DESIRED EXPERIENCE:
- Master's degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Certification in Systems Engineering (e.g., INCOSE CSEP, DAU SE)
- Experience working in an Agile team/framework.
- Experience with Software Development and DevSecOps.
- DoD 8570/8140 certifications or equivalent in Information Assurance and Cybersecurity (e.g., Security+ or higher).
