About the Role:
We’re seeking a highly motivated Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) to join our growing team in Colorado Springs. This is a critical, high-impact role supporting the design, development, and implementation of secure systems for national defense and mission-critical programs.
You’ll play a key role in shaping cybersecurity strategies and ensuring systems meet stringent security standards. If you’re passionate about protecting systems, solving complex security challenges, and want to make a meaningful impact—this is the job for you.
What You’ll Do:
• Develop and implement system security architectures aligned with DoD requirements (RMF, NIST 800-53)
• Guide secure system design, integration, and implementation throughout the system development lifecycle (SDLC)
• Perform risk and vulnerability assessments on systems and networks
• Collaborate with system engineers, developers, and security professionals to ensure compliance and security best practices
• Develop and maintain SSPs, POA&Ms, and other documentation
• Conduct security reviews, audits, and technical analysis
• Support A&A (Authorization & Accreditation) processes for systems under RMF
What You’ll Need:
• Active Secret Clearance (required)
• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• 5+ years of experience in information systems security engineering
• Deep understanding of RMF, DoD cybersecurity policies, and NIST standards (esp. 800-53)
• Experience with secure system design, implementation, and continuous monitoring
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
Bonus if you have:
• CISSP, CISM, or Security+ certification
• Experience supporting DoD, defense contractors, or classified programs
