Position Summary
Odyssey Systems has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Process Engineer to provide dedicated support to the Nuclear Command, Control, and Communication (NC3) Directorate within the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC). This role is part of the NCS Division 4 Strategic Communications Division (AFNWC/NCS) and is essential in ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of critical processes supporting NC3 operations.
Responsibilities
In this role you will be responsible for supporting the Nuclear Command, Control, and Communication (NC3) Directorate by developing, configuring, and optimizing commercial and manufacturing processes from inception through startup and certification.

Minimum Required Qualifications
Clearance: Active Secret Clearance
Preferred Qualifications
Clearance: Must have and be able to maintain a Secret level Clearance
Education: Master's degree (MA/MS) in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
Years of experience: 10+ years of experience in process engineering, manufacturing optimization, or related fields

Responsibilities

Duties include, but not limited to:
- Maintain reliable and safe manufacturing systems while improving production rates, efficiencies, yields, costs, and changeovers.
- Evaluate manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs, applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials.
- Collaborate with vendors and operators to identify opportunities for process enhancements and improvements.
- Develop and refine manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching, designing, and modifying manufacturing methods and equipment.
- Create and implement best practices, routines, and innovative solutions to improve production rates and ensure high-quality output.
- Assess and analyze existing processes, collect data, and interpret results to identify inefficiencies or areas for improvement.
- Design, test, and upgrade systems and processes to enhance operational effectiveness.
- Perform process simulations to model and predict system performance before implementation.
- Manage cost and time constraints to ensure projects stay on budget and schedule.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify potential operational hazards and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Develop process documentation and operating instructions to standardize procedures and ensure compliance with industry and DoD standards.
Qualifications
Citizenship: Must be a US citizen
Minimum Required Qualifications

Education: Master's degree (MA/MS) in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
Years of experience: 10+ years of experience in process engineering, manufacturing optimization, or related fields
- Works on high-visibility or mission-critical aspects of the program
- Performs all functional duties independently
- May oversee the efforts of junior and mid-level staff
- May be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job
Technical Skills
- Expertise in manufacturing process development, configuration, and optimization
- Deep understanding of process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement)
- Ability to design, test, and upgrade systems and processes
- Proficiency in process simulations and data analysis
- Experience conducting risk assessments and developing mitigation strategies
- Strong knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials
- Ability to develop process documentation and operating instructions
- Familiarity with DoD acquisition processes and system integration
Interpersonal Skills
- Proven leadership in high-visibility and mission-critical roles
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to mentor and oversee less senior staff
- Strong attention to detail and quality assurance
- Effective time management and ability to meet deadlines
