This System Test Lead role is responsible for managing a geographically diverse team that executes end to end system terrestrial test campaigns and on orbit test campaigns and will support a program in the Space Security business unit within the Space Systems Sector Tactical Space Systems Division (TSSD). The Lead will manage the System Test Team from a technical and programmatic perspective. The System Test Team is organizationally located within the program's System Engineering Integration and Test (SEIT) IPT.
The System Test Lead will lead a team of several engineers that performs planning, coordination, and execution of ground-based end to end testing to ensure compatibility with USG-procured space vehicles that use different USG-managed communication systems. The lead is also responsible to status the customer about planning and execution of Ground SW quarterly test campaigns in the context of alignment with terrestrial system test campaigns and on orbit test campaign readiness. Finally, the System Test lead will oversee on orbit test planning and execution to ensure mission readiness of the program's Family of Systems. The lead will ensure collaboration by the team both within the program, with the customer, and with space vehicle contractor teams.
This position requires being able to balance equal parts technical competency, forward thinking ideas, and execution focus. This position requires a functional understanding of system integration and test activities, ground system networking and connectivity, and the ability address challenges with collaborative solutions. This position utilizes abilities to interact in an organized and solutions-oriented manner, with external entities who are contributing elements of the integrated ground segment. The role will include support for Control Account Management (Earned Value) activities like schedule updates, risk and opportunity management, team headcount forecast, and other CAM requests. The work is primarily performed in classified environments. The ability to organize and prioritize work in a dynamic fast-paced environment is essential.
This position is located in Chantilly, VA and you will work on site daily. Some travel is required to Los Angeles, CA, Colorado Springs, CO, and Melbourne, FL.

Salary Range: $155,500 - $233,300
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) field with 14 years experience OR a Master's Degree in a STEM discipline with 12 years experience OR a PhD with in a STEM discipline and 9 years of experience. Experience can be considered in lieu of degree
- Leader experience with a history of people management and operational excellence. Demonstrated track record of successful mentorship and accelerating reports growth, being an effective multiplier for the team.
- Must have U.S. Citizenship with active Top Secret level clearance and prior SCI eligibility with ability to obtain customer SAP approval at time of application
- Experience in multi-domain integration and test activities
- Experience or interest in managing a team
- Experience with Satellite Ground Systems in the US National Security arena
- Understanding of Agile software development practices.
- Background working software systems engineering.
- On-orbit testing of space systems and testing of integrated ground systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with NGSP Ground Systems
- Experience with Earned Value Management practices
