Job Title: Senior AWS Cloud Systems Operations Administrator

Location: San Antonio, TX

Status: Onsite/Hybrid

Employment Type: Full-Time

Clearance Level: TS/SCI

Education: Bachelors or higher

Salary: 150,000-170,000

Minimum Certification:

AWS SysOps Administrator Associate & IAT Level II Certification

Minimum Skills and Responsibilities:

The Senior AWS Cloud Systems Operations Administrator provides subject matter expertise for cloud systems administration, security, and process improvement. The role includes:

Analyzing, planning, and developing requirements documentation.

Building functional models and architectures.

Developing procedures and supporting technical and management functions.

Deploying, managing, and operating workloads on AWS.

Implementing security controls and ensuring compliance.

Utilizing both the AWS Management Console and AWS Command Line Interface (CLI).

Applying knowledge of the AWS Well-Architected Framework, AWS networking, and security services.

Managing AWS tools such as Kubernetes, EKS, Diode, Lambda, etc. within a cloud environment.

Qualifications:

Experience: At least 10 years in IT systems administration, with expertise in Microsoft and Linux platforms.

Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field is required; a master's degree may substitute for 2 years of experience.

Cloud & Security Expertise:

Proficiency in AWS cloud infrastructure maintenance (patching, STIG compliance, and upgrades).

Experience in system administration for AWS workloads.

Knowledge of Kubernetes and traditional RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) servers.

Kubernetes & Containerization:

Experience supporting Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS).

Kubernetes CKA certification and/or relevant training with at least one year of hands-on experience in containerized platforms.

Desired Skills

Training & Certifications:

Candidates must hold at least two (2) of the following certifications or training courses, with at least one (1) year of applied experience in Container Orchestration and/or application deployment. ( Two years of proven relevant experience may substitute for a certification where applicable. )

AWS Cloud Practitioner (Foundational)

AWS SysOps Administrator (Associate)

Operating a Production Kubernetes Cluster

Kubernetes and Cloud Native Associate (KCNA)

Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)

Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)

RH294: RHEL Linux Automation with Ansible
