Information Systems Solutions (ISS) is looking for a Senior Linux Engineer to support the JS J7 Joint Training DevSecOps pipeline core infrastructure and data center in Suffolk, VA. The selected candidate will be responsible for supporting the Deputy Directorate, Joint Training (DDJT).
This role is 100% onsite.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- Designing, implementing, and managing Linux-based operating systems.
- Installing, configuring, maintaining, and supporting Linux servers, networks, and applications.
- Customizing solutions for specific business needs using Linux and open-source technologies.
- Monitoring Unix/Linux open-source operating systems, resolving user issues, and implementing protective measures.
- Overseeing and handling systems operating on Linux servers, including installation, upgrades, and regular maintenance checks.
- Administering and maintaining a company's Linux-based systems, ensuring security patches and software updates.

- GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC)
- Security Certified Network Professional (SCNP)
- System Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)
- RHCSA Red Hat Certified System Administrator (preferred) or
- RHCDS Red Hat Certified Data Center Specialist (preferred)
And
- Functional area certification (required prior to start date)
Required Skills
- A Bachelor's degree or 10 years of experience with data design in a consulting or internal role, defining data strategy and architectures while developing and mentoring staff at all levels to build and deliver high quality and highly innovative simulation services.
- At least 5 years of experience related to DoD major systems or programs.
