Our NORAD Operations Group
Selected by the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center's Strategic Warning and Surveillance Systems Division for Operations, Maintenance, and Sustainment (OM&S) of critical mission systems for the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) Cheyenne Mountain Complex (NCMC), we support the Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II).
Since 2020, through the (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II), has provided:
• Operations, maintenance, and Sustainment of current and legacy systems for the surveillance and cataloging of manmade objects in space.
• Mitigation of orbital conflicts.
• Threat warnings and control from airborne, land-based, and space-based systems for threat activities.
• Operations and maintenance of classified communications.
• Software development and integration.
NISSC II supports the classified communications and processing for Command and Control (C2) capability and legacy space C2 systems located at:
• Cheyenne Mountain Space Force Station (CMSFS), Colorado
• Peterson Space Force Base (PSFB), Colorado
• Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska
• Vandenberg Space Force Base, California
• Numerous sensor and forward operator sites around the world
Description of Duties:
The Network Engineer supports North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) on the Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II). The candidate will:
• Design, develop, build, and test network engineering solutions as part of a team that introduces new technologies and/or improves existing technologies in compliance with established project management processes
• Lead major project initiatives and develop configurations using expertise in routing protocols, firewalls, data center protocols, security requirements and network virtualization
• Troubleshoot, develop, and design network architectures consisting of multilevel access and multilevel security platforms supporting both CONUS and OCONUS sites
• Configure, install, and troubleshoot Cisco routers, switches, and various other network and telecommunication components
• Analyze and determine corrective action for secure data communications networks
• Create/modify Microsoft Visio and AutoCAD network diagrams and drawings
• Adapt to changing environments and coordinate large scale implementations using available resources
• Responsible for conducting site surveys, installing, and configuring network and boundary protection solutions; acting as program liaison; and assisting in data collection and validation efforts at each location
• Monitoring data center systems to improve network performance of overall systems
• Performing disaster recovery operations and data backups when required
• You may be asked to continue performance in support of a war, contingency, or exercise
• You may be asked to continue performance during inclement weather or other conditions to support critical mission systems
• Position may require night and weekend work and could include continental or overseas travel (current passport required) with the military to support network deployments

Basic Requirements:
• Clearance: Active Secret Clearance
• 6 or more years of related network engineering experience
• IAT Level II Certification (CCNA-Security, CySA , GICSP, GSEC, Security CE, CND, SSCP)
• 5 or more years of practical experience in (1) maintenance and control networks and related environments together with network hardware, software, and configurations, (2) troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving hardware and network/system problems, and (3) implementation of new solutions and improved network resilience
• Experience with network protocols - switching technologies, routing fundamentals, firewalls, IP subnets, firewalling, load balancing, zones, and Management Networks
• Networking Experience in BGP, OSPF, ISIS, Static Routing, Switching, and routing technologies (L2-L3)
• Experience with Cisco Nexus and Cisco Catalyst switches
• Experience performing technical validation of network designs in accordance with industry best practices and DoD policies and guidelines
• Experience with NSX-T Software Defined Networking
• Experience in requirements development and management
• May require lifting and carrying boxes of materials or equipment up to 50 lbs
• May require climbing, working at heights and in small, confined spaces such as under raised floors, inside closets and server racks
• Must be able to sit, stoop, kneel or crouch for long periods of time, work in noisy areas with hotter and colder temperature than standard office environmental conditions
• Operating hand tools, power tools, ladders, and test equipment
• May require operating motor vehicles
Desired Requirements:
• vSphere Certification: VCP-DCV.
• NSX Certification: VCP-NV.
• Cisco Certified Network Professional: CCNA & CCNP.
• Experience with DoD STIGs (as related to networking devices).
• Experience with virtual distributed switches (VDS).
• Experience with Palo Alto Firewall configurations and management.
This position is expected to pay $130,000 - $145,000 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
