Pay Range
$79,380 - $97,200 Annually for the A01.1 Level

Job Description
We have an opening for a Business Operations Specialist to work at the Joint Laboratory Office-Nevada (JLON). You will perform a full range of advanced, diverse, and sensitive administrative duties. You will support the managers, Laboratory personnel, and visitors at both at the Nevada Support Facility in North Las Vegas, NV, and the Nevada National Security Site (NNSS), located in Mercury, Nevada, approximately 60 miles north of Las Vegas, NV. You will rotate between work locations as needed to support JLON. This position is in the Strategic Deterrence (SD) Directorate.
This position requires full-time on-site presence due to the nature of the work.

Job Description

In this role, you will
- Deliver advanced administrative support to the JLON management team, coordinating daily operations across LLNL, LANL, MSTS, and NNSA teams to ensure seamless collaboration and efficiency.
- Manage complex schedules, calendars, and meeting arrangements for multiple senior-level managers, including travel coordination, expense reporting, and procurement of office supplies and equipment.
- Extract, analyze, and compile data to create detailed organizational charts, reports, tables, and PowerPoint presentations for management use.
- Draft, proofread, format, and finalize a variety of sensitive documents, such as correspondence, itineraries, reports, presentations, and budget spreadsheets, ensuring accuracy and professionalism.
- Oversee the management of electronic and physical records, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and regulatory standards, including the secure handling, storage, and transmission of classified materials.
- Maintain classified matter protection and control, adhering to DOE/NNSA guidelines for document handling and security protocols.
- Represent senior management in interactions with internal and external stakeholders, maintaining professionalism and discretion in handling sensitive or confidential matters.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance which requires U.S. Citizenship.
- Demonstrated experience in coordinating complex administrative processes and supporting business operations within a multidisciplinary environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) with the ability to prepare detailed reports, presentations, and data visualizations to support strategic decision-making.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, meet tight deadlines, and adapt to frequent interruptions in a high-pressure environment.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft professional documents, present information clearly, and effectively interact with all levels of management and external stakeholders.
- Proven ability to independently manage senior-level calendars, resolve scheduling conflicts, and communicate changes promptly and effectively.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, demonstrating flexibility and initiative.
- Eligibility to obtain Classified Matter Protection and Control (CMPC) certification and serve as a Classified Administrative Specialist.
Qualification we desire
- This position requires an active Department of Energy (DOE) Q-level clearance or active Top-Secret clearance issued by another U.S. government agency at the time of hire.
- Experience handling classified documents and knowledge of DOE/NNSA guidelines for classified document management and computer security protocols.
- Familiarity with Strategic Deterrence and LLNL's policies, procedures, and operational framework.
