Responsibilities
Your combination of people skills and technical expertise makes you the team hero, solving one problem after another. As a database administrator who specializes in AWS tools orchestrated or deployed in a cloud environment, you know how to manage and secure database technology. At EverWatch, you can use those skills to improve the database technology supporting Department of Defense (DoD) missions.
On our team, you'll deploy and manage multiple databases across DoD environments. You'll provide your client with peace of mind as you implement policies and procedures to ensure the security and integrity of the database. You'll use technology and tools like Kubernetes, EKS, Diode, and Lambda to identify problem areas and opportunities for improvement in a mission-critical database.
In this role, you'll closely impact DoD missions by providing system administration in core data-related AWS services with relational and non-relational databases. With your technical expertise, mentoring, and opportunities to learn new tools and skills, we'll focus on growing as a team to make the best solutions for our customers.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $115,143.26 /year in our lowest geographic market up to $165,143.26 /year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Dependent on the position offered, sign-on payments, relocation, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of full paid medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Qualifications
You Have:
- 5+ years of experience as a database platform engineer in medium to large-scale solutions, including data migration, data modeling, automation, modernization, data replication, backup and recovery, and general DBA tasks
- 2+ years of experience with database administration, including AWS services and relational and non-relational databases
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python or Bash, for automation
- Experience deploying and managing database solutions on AWS, including EC2 instances and S3 storage
- Knowledge of database design, implementation, and maintenance principles, with a keen focus on automation and optimization
- Ability to automate, ingest, and transform data, and orchestrate data pipelines while applying programming concepts and ensuring data quality
- Ability to implement best practices for security, scalability, and disaster recovery in a cloud environment
- TS/SCI clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Security
- IAT Level II Certification, AWS Certified Data Engineer Certification, AWS Certified Sysops Administrator Certification, and AWS Certified Solutions Architect Certification
Nice If You Have:
- Experience maintaining multiple databases across environments, including data exchanges through cross-domain solution pipelines such as AWS diode and software artifacts
