Description:
The Leidos Spatial Solutions team has an opening for an experienced AWS (Systems Manger) Software Distributor Package Manager to provide software packaging and maintenance and general administrative support under the Foundation Sustainment Services contract.
Required Skills:
- Primary responsibilities include the development of scripts and deployment of software and patches across a set of AWS environments consisting of several hundred Windows 2019 instances.
Day to Day Work Responsibilities may include:
- Plan, execute, and monitor software update deployments using AWS Software Distributor to ensure all instances are properly patched and compliant with organizational security policies.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to train and otherwise enable the execution of software distributor tasks against Windows instances.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to software update deployments, including failed installations, update conflicts, and compliance discrepancies.
- Design and implement automated workflows for deploying third-party software updates using AWS Software Distributor, leveraging vendor catalogs or custom update packages.
- Collaborate with application owners and IT teams to package and deploy software applications using Software Distributor, adhering to best practices for application compatibility and user experience.
- Monitor software deployment success rates, compliance levels, and deployment status using AWS Systems Manager reports and dashboards, proactively addressing any discrepancies or failures.
- Continuously evaluate and optimize the Software Distributor software deployment processes and configurations to improve efficiency, reliability, and scalability.
- Experience with Scripting/Automation using PowerShell
- Experience in software installation/upgrades
- Experience in Windows troubleshooting within a secure environment
- 2+ years direct AWS Systems Manager experience or 1+ year Systems Manager experience and 2+ years SCCM/MECM package development experience
- Must have a DoD 8570 compliant IAT Level II or higher certification upon hire: CompTIA Security+ CE OR CISSP
- Basic understanding and experience with remote administration, virtualized computing, and cloud computing (specifically AWS)
- Familiarity with Configuration Management and Request for Change process for review and assessment.
- Working knowledge of SAFe Agile concepts and an ability to operate within an Agile framework
- US Citizenship is required due to the nature of the government contracts we support.
- Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph required OR active TS/SCI and willingness to get a Poly.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Requires a bachelor's degree and 8+ years of relevant experience, additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
- 4+ years direct AWS Systems Manager experience, including software distributor package development
- Experience with AWS IAM troubleshooting
- DevOps experience, particularly with GitLab
- Experience with Python 3 w/ Boto3, Amazon CLI, or other scripting languages
- Experience with Ansible to complete similar requirements on RHEL 9
- Experience with Atlassian Jira and Confluence
- AWS knowledge and experience equivalent to AWS SysOps Administrator or Solutions Architect associate
