About the Role
Colvin Run Networks is looking for an experienced Senior Cloud Engineer (10+ years) to
design, implement, and optimize cloud-based infrastructure for a critical Defense Intelligence
Agency (DIA) contract and internal modernization initiatives. In this role, you will define and
manage cloud architecture, enhance security and scalability, and drive innovation using
cutting-edge technologies. This position is ideal for a seasoned engineer who thrives in
high-stakes environments and enjoys tackling complex technical challenges.
Responsibilities
● Design and implement scalable, secure cloud infrastructure to support mission-critical
enterprise applications.
● Define and analyze system requirements, including server infrastructure, capacity
planning, storage, and networking protocols.
● Ensure cloud environments operate at optimal levels and support application
development teams with cloud integration.
● Develop and document infrastructure design, configurations, and processes to
maintain system health and performance monitoring.
● Implement cloud security measures to protect sensitive data and networks, ensuring
compliance with government and industry security standards.
● Lead cloud modernization efforts, including migration, automation, and DevSecOps
strategies.
● Evaluate new cloud technologies and make recommendations to enhance performance,
scalability, and security.
● Provide technical leadership and mentorship, working on advanced, complex cloud
engineering projects.
Required Qualifications
● 10+ years of experience in cloud engineering, infrastructure design, and enterprise IT
systems.
● Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and related technologies
(Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, etc.).
● Strong background in cloud security, IAM, and compliance frameworks (NIST,
FedRAMP, DoD security standards).
, ● Experience with networking, storage, and virtualization technologies in cloud and
hybrid environments.
● Proven ability to design, document, and implement complex cloud architectures
with scalability and security in mind.
● Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code (IaC), automation, and
containerization.
● Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
● Certifications preferred: AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Solutions
Architect, Google Professional Cloud Architect, CISSP, or similar.
