The DNI Jr. Contracts Specialist is responsible for supporting the preparation and administration of contracts while adhering to regulatory requirements and organizational policies. This position requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a commitment to compliance and customer service. The Jr. Contracts Specialist helps uphold transparency, integrity, and accountability in government procurement processes, ultimately contributing to the achievement of organizational goals and the delivery of services.

Additionally, this person must have the ability to multitask, problem solve, create documentation of processes, work both independently and in a team environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work with people of varying experiences and backgrounds is critical.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:
This job operates in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. This is a largely sedentary role that primarily requires sitting at a desk in front of a computer for long periods of time.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time exempt position; typical work hours and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; additional hours are expected at times.

Responsibilities
- Assist in drafting and reviewing contract documents, including terms and conditions, statements of work, ensuring they comply with government regulations, policies and procedures.
- Help administer contracts throughout their lifecycle, including monitoring contractor performance, ensuring compliance with contract terms, and handling any changes or modifications that may arise.
- Maintain accurate contract records and documentation, including correspondence, amendments, and other relevant paperwork. Prepare reports as needed to track contract status, expenditures, and performance metrics.
- Assist in evaluating and processing contract modifications, amendments, and change orders in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.

- Communicate with various stakeholders, including government officials, subcontractors, and internal team members. Coordinate activities and exchange information to ensure smooth contract execution.
- Continuously develop skills and knowledge in government contracting through training programs, workshops, and self-study. Stay informed about industry best practices and emerging trends.
- Provide responsive and professional customer service to internal and external stakeholders, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and maintaining positive relationships.

- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Legal Studies, or a related field.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- 1+ years of contract management experience
