Duties/Responsibilities:
Administer, operate, and maintain physical and virtualized infrastructure providing support ranging from Tier 1 to Tier 2 support in support of the systems as determined by the Government.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science/systems, information systems/technology, engineering/engineering technology, software engineering/programming, or related field. Experience may be substituted for education.
Experience: This position requires a minimum of five years’ experience, of which at least three years must be specialized experience in administrating computer systems. General experience includes operations experience on a large-scale computer system or a multi-server local area network.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Administer, operate, and maintain physical and virtualized infrastructure providing support ranging from Tier 1 to Tier 2 support in support of the systems as determined by the Government.
- Responsible for the administration, maintenance and support of the organization’s IM/IT systems and infrastructure including managing servers, ensuring system availability, and implementing solutions to improve system performance and security.
- Oversees the installation, configuration and maintenance of servers including physical and virtual environments.
- Monitors systems performance and troubleshoots moderate to complex issues to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Plan and execute updates and backups as required. Manage and test backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Follow the backup and recovery plans to ensure there is no application performance degradation according to service-level agreements.
- Develops and maintains disaster recovery plans for critical systems and services.
- Participates in disaster recovery drills and business continuity planning.
- Ensures systems are updated with the latest security patches and software updates. Schedule and perform system upgrades as necessary to maintain the currency, security, and functionality of the system.
- Implements and maintains security measures to protect systems from unauthorized access and vulnerabilities. Ensure compliance with quarterly published Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
- Conducts security audits and assessments to ensure compliance with organization policies and regulatory requirements.
- Support system/application accreditation efforts through the implementation of security controls and the provision of security artifacts required to meet accreditation requirements.
- Provide subject matter expertise in all cyber security initiatives associated with server and endpoint devices and explain new guidance to MTF staff.
- Draft documentation needed to announce new cyber security initiatives and participate with the Government in building and implementing processes surrounding cyber security associated with servers and endpoints.
- Manage allocated storage to avoid incidents caused by lack of capacity.
- Serve as point of contact for resolving customer questions or problems concerning IT automation systems, software and/or hardware problems, password violations, and telecommunication troubles and work orders as assigned. Complete and resolve incident tickets within three (3) business days of being assigned.
- Provided limited support and coordination for network devises associated with maintaining connectivity of the IM/IT Network, some of which may include certain network design, implementation, maintenance, administration, and troubleshooting services.
- Maintains detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures and changes.
- Creates reports on system performance, security incidents and other key metrics.
- Coordinates with other IT teams to ensure coordinated delivery of IT services.
- Provides recommendations for system improvements based on analysis and industry best practices.
