ASRC Federal is seeking a mid to senior level Certified Network Cable Technician(Hardware Network Engineer) with experience in network cabling infrastructure and Hardware In the Loop (HWIL) engineering. The Network Engineer/Cable Installer will be involved with the design and deployment of the communication infrastructures that practice the best industry standards of local area network (LAN) infrastructures. This position requires an understanding of information technology hardware, and the candidate should be project focused with ability to generate task procedures and dependencies required to execute large and small tasks.

This position will report to the Hardware Team Lead to ensure tasks, such as cabling, wiring diagrams, communications systems and audio-visual hardware repair are executed per industry standards in MDA Testing Labs. The candidate should be able to report statuses using various ticketing system and work in a fast-paced team at the Missile Defense Agency's (MDA) Advanced Research Center (ARC).

Required Skills :

  • Experience/knowledge of computer and network systems in HWIL environment
  • Certified Network Cable Installer (CNCI)
  • Strong understanding of copper of fiber limitations
  • Proven knowledge and history of fiber and copper cabling
  • Audio Visual (AV) Systems understanding and troubleshooting
  • Network Voice Communications Systems
  • Ability to lift IT equipment during installation and removal along with installing communications cabling under a raised floor structure
  • Ability use tools of the trade, such as cable/crimping tool, screw drivers, wire cutters, voltage meters, and circuit tracer.
  • History of installing and implementing network connections/wiring and computer hardware
  • Ability to adapt to changes and solve problems
  • Attend meetings and respond to leadership questions in a timely manner
  • Build diagrams, charts and briefing slides
  • At least 4-15 years related work experience


Preferred Skills :

  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Certification
  • Experience working in a Department of Defense (DoD) Environment
  • Experience in Digital Audio-Visual data systems
  • CTS-I Certification
  • Security+ Certification
  • Experience working in secured spaces
  • Experience with ticket management systems such as Manage Engine, Remedy or

ServiceNow

Security Clearance Requirements :

  • Secret clearance required.
