POSITION OVERVIEW


DEFTEC is seeking an experienced Senior Operations Analyst for Counter-small, Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C-sUAS) which will provide comprehensive operational analysis, coordination, advisory, and planning support at both operational and strategic levels within the Operational Effects Division (OPX), Operations Department (OP), Operations Integration Directorate (OI), and the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA). This role will also involve collaboration with interagency partners to facilitate the transformation and modernization of counter-small, unmanned aircraft system (C-UAS) capabilities within the Department of Defense (DOD). The focus will be on detection and defeat technologies, along with the supporting tactics, techniques, and procedures that will aid Combatant Commands (CCMDs) and interagency coordination.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain situational awareness of current and emerging UAS and C-UAS systems.

  • Provide advice and recommendations on C-sUAS requirements.

  • Provide planning, programming advice and analytical support.

  • Manage customer requests for support and projects.

  • Coordinate, manage and complete tasks to support counter UAS methodologies.

  • Assist with contingency operations planning.

  • Perform other duties as assigned/requested.


QUALIFICATIONS:


Required Qualifications:


  • Active Top Secret security clearance and be eligible for immediate SCI nomination and indoctrination

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university, (Master's degree desired)

  • 5-10 years' experience with US military (Air Defense, Air Space Control and Coordination, Counter UAS or Force Protection)

  • Working knowledge of small UAS systems

  • Knowledge of UAS radio frequency (RF) modulation and demodulation methodologies (preferred)

  • Experience working within the Military Decision-Making Process (MDMP) and the intelligence production cycle

  • Familiar with and capable of accessing and analyzing CCMD operational plans to identify areas requiring C-UAS advisory support

  • Experience in drafting, initiating, amending, and accelerating the delivery of urgent threat solutions as requested by the CCMDs

  • Experience developing and presenting complex information to senior government officials, Military Commanders, and their staff

  • Ability to perform detailed work with little guidance and to interact in a positive manner with other government and industry personnel and to work under pressure and to adapt quickly in a changing environment and synthesize information and draft summaries and reports

  • Demonstrated experience in the ability and skills to manage multiple projects, keep track of, or adjust, existing tasks while identifying new tasks and expectations as projects evolve

  • Familiar with technology integration, requirements management, and acquisition/procurement processes/capabilities

  • Excellent writing, oral communication, and organizational skills and proficiency with MS Office applications

  • Previous Military Experience as Operations, Plans, or Intelligence Officer; deployment experience preferred

  • Previous extensive experience developing, distributing, and presenting complex information to senior Government officials

  • Experience working in a time-sensitive environment with a high-level of accountability, working with and briefing senior level DoD personnel; excellent verbal and written communication and organizational and interpersonal skills


Work Location:


  • DTRA facility located at Reston VA is the primary location for this position. There will be requirements to travel between Reston, the Pentagon, and Fort Belvoir, Virginia.
