Job Title: Senior Network Engineer
Clearance Required: Active Secret
Work Location: Onsite; Washington DC.

Alpha Omega is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Network Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the upgrade and maintenance of our enterprise networking services, including hardware refresh and support for daily network operations. The engineer will work with a variety of technologies including wireless (WLAN), load balancers, firewalls such as Palo Alto, Cisco wireless, site to site VPN, SD-WAN, virtualization, AWS site-site VPN, defense in depth, network modernization, VRF, GRE and IPsec tunnel, defense in depth, endpoint security, Cisco DNA, network security improvements, customer service, network automation, network quality of service, and support for application teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manages network operations, supports the underlying physical infrastructure
  • Implements, manages, and monitors wired, wireless, and remote access, network-as-a-service, as well as the various components of network infrastructure including switching, circuits, routers, firewalls, servers, personnel, equipment, and infrastructure software, among others.
  • Ensures compliance with agency security requirements, incorporating best practices from the NIST's Cybersecurity Framework
  • Leads workstreams and may manage Mid-Level Network Engineer on select projects
  • Plan and execute network upgrades and hardware refresh activities.
  • Support daily network operations and resolve any network issues that arise.
  • Design, configure, and deploy network solutions, including wireless (WLAN), load balance, firewalls, Palo Alto, Cisco wireless, site to site VPN, SD-WAN, virtualization, AWS site-site VPN, defense in depth, network modernization, VRF, GRE and IPsec tunnel, defense in depth, endpoint security, Cisco DNS, network security improvements, customer service, network automation, and network quality of service.
  • Work with application teams to ensure that network services meet their requirements.
  • Implement and maintain security protocols to protect the network from unauthorized access.
  • Implement and maintain network automation tools to improve efficiency and reduce manual workloads.
  • Monitor and analyze network performance and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.


Required Qualifications:

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field


Experience/Skills:
  • 8 years' experience in enterprise networking services, including network upgrades, hardware refresh, and support for daily network operations.
  • Strong knowledge of wireless (WLAN), load balancers, firewalls, Palo Alto, Cisco wireless, site to site VPN, SD-WAN, virtualization, AWS site-site VPN, defense in depth, network modernization, VRF, GRE and IPsec tunnel, defense in depth, endpoint security, Cisco DNA, network security improvements, customer service, network automation, and network quality of service.
  • Experience with Cisco site to site VPN and AWS site-site VPN.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


Certification(s):
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional: CCNP


Salary and Benefit Information:

The likely salary range for this position is $95,613.20 - $140 K. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position and could fall outside of this range.
