Sterling is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join our Strategic Technologies Group. As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, deploying, and maintaining our state-of-the-art AI Experience Center.

Responsibilities
• Design, install, configure and manage solutions in our on-premises vSphere, Kubernetes and OpenShift lab environment.
• Maintain subject matter expertise in datacenter architecture, Linux, vSphere and Kubernetes.
• Gain high-level technical certifications when required.
• Collaborate with the Strategic Technologies Group on implementing new features, technologies and equipment.
• Troubleshoot system technical issues and coordinate with OEM support teams for problem resolution.
• Maintain support requests from internal engineers regarding all account management and system configuration issues.
• Provide tours of the datacenter upon request.

Requirements
• Strong technical understanding in the following:
◦ Linux Systems
▪ 3-5 years’ experience designing, installing and configuring Linux systems.
▪ Must have excellent hands-on CLI expertise.
◦ Kubernetes and OpenShift Systems
▪ 3-5 years’ experience designing, installing and configuring either Kubernetes or OpenShift clusters.
◦ vSphere
▪ Experience designing, installing and configuring vSphere clusters.
◦ Software Development
▪ 3-5 years’ experience developing both shell and Python scripts.
• Good technical understanding of the following:
◦ Enterprise Networks
▪ Experience configuring Dell switching and Cisco firewalls.
▪ Sound technical understanding of datacenter networks including VPNs, VLANs, layer-3 switching and routing protocols.
◦ Enterprise Storage Systems
▪ Experience installing and configuring enterprise storage systems.
▪ Sound technical understanding of network storage protocols including NFS, SMB and NVMe/TCP.

Desired Skills
• Experience with Nvidia DGX, HGX or OVX platforms.
• Experience managing HPC or large scale accelerated computing environments.
• Ansible or other automation platforms is a plus.
• Experience with Weka, VAST or DDN storage systems.
• Experience with Dell PowerScale, PowerStore or PowerFlex.
• Experience with Dell Data Domain and PowerProtect Data Manager data protection systems.
• Experience with Windows Server and can manage and configure an Active Directory domain.
• VMware Horizon administration experience.
• Strong documentation and technical writing skills.
• Demonstrated experience working independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Certification and Education
• Bachelor’s degree as a minimum or demonstrate equivalent experience.
• RHCSA, RHCE or similar Linux certification is required or demonstrate equivalent experience.
• Red Hat OpenShift or Kubernetes certification is highly desired.
• Nvidia AI in the Data Center Certification is desired.
• VMware VCP DCV 7.x / 8.x or equivalent experience is desired.
• CCNA or Dell networking certification.
