-SATCOM:
• Familiarity with large aperture antennas used in communications including but not limited to:
o SPACE-FRAME RADOMES
o HARD-SHELL RADOMES
o SOLID STATE POWER AMPLIFIERS
o HIGH POWER AMPLIFIERS
o satellite timing
o fiber optic IFL's
o X-BAND & L BAND
o C-BAND & Ka BAND RF
o Modems
o Switches
o Mil-Spec configuration procedures
o Waveguides
o Dehydrators
o up/down converters and amplifiers.
o Know how to use a SPECTRUM ANALYZER and SIGNAL GENERATOR
-RADIO FREQUENCY SPECTRUM MANAGEMENT & PERIPHERAL EQUIPMENT:
• Knowledge of:
o RF spectrum from ELF-HF-SHF including waveguides, HELIAX, coaxial cables, RF connectors, and various antenna types from monoples to cassegrain antennas.
o Other antennas include RHCP and LHCP communications antennas, dipoles and whips antennas used in conjunction with mission partners.
-HARDWARE/SOFTWARE:
• Ability to lift at least 50-75lbs and follow installation procedures for rack mounting equipment.
• Must on occasion have knowledge to update software and firmware on sophisticated electronic equipment.
• There is work for installing and de-installing systems, a good fundamental knowledge of the requirement and experience is needed.
-FIBER OPTICS-COPPER:
• Fiber optics expertise including using fiber optic tools like:
o OTDR, fiber transmitter/receiver testers and fiber optic test lights.
• Ability to install fiber and fiber plant within racks and existing infrastructure.
• Additionally, ETHERNET COPPER CABLE knowledge for 568A/568B standards and ability to pull cables and terminate them is a must.
-NETWORKING:
• Basic ability to log into switches, routers and other equipment as specified for verification of data flow.
• Limited configuration ability is performed by contractors.
• Must have at least NETWORK + and SECURITY + only due to limited access to equipment and fundamental knowledge of how to get into command line protocols.
-CRYPTOGRAPHIC EQUIPMENT:
• Experience and knowledge of cryptographic systems, key loaders and peripheral cables and desktop applications used to manage them.
-BASIC AC/DC SKILLS:
• Ability to troubleshoot power issues from site power panels to basic power supplies.
• Should have Basic Electricity/Electronics knowledge and use of multi-meters.
-HVAC & CHILLER:
• Understand basic chiller and HVAC functions, ability to work with site personnel to repair, replace and identify issues with multiple systems and the site chiller.
-UPS POWER:
• Fundamental knowledge of Uninterrupted Power System and ability to identify issues or problems with system
