LTS is seeking an experienced Systems Architect (Advanced) to support the coordination with business and technology teams, ascertaining system requirements, such as program functions, output requirements, input data acquisition, and system techniques and controls. The environment is dynamic, and client needs are often evolving; flexibility and forward-thinking views are important for success. This position will require an Active TS Security Clearance with SCI eligibility. This position is 100% onsite in Washington D.C.

Responsibilities:

Network Design, Development & Administration

Perform standard IT engineering tasks, including logic design, circuit design, firmware development, and systems engineering.

Design and implement network topology roadmap, ensuring scalability and future requirements.

Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of networking hardware, including routers, switches, firewalls, servers, and intrusion detection systems.

Monitor network infrastructure, identify emerging requirements, and recommend updates to improve performance and security.

Maintain an inventory of network equipment, IP addresses, service locations, maintenance agreements, and leased lines.

Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, design flaws, and outages while maintaining optimal security posture.

Evaluate, test, and deploy software and hardware upgrades for networking infrastructure.

Assist in configuring and managing core network devices such as TACLANES and protective security devices.


Security, Compliance & Disaster Recovery


Ensure optimal network design, operation, and interoperability, adhering to security best practices and compliance requirements.

Develop and implement problem resolution and escalation procedures, ensuring timely response and documentation of network issues.

Assist in developing, implementing, testing, and maintaining disaster recovery plans to protect the network infrastructure.

Monitor network utilization and capacity planning, making strategic recommendations to enhance performance and security.

Provide mitigation and remediation recommendations for security vulnerabilities affecting network assets.


Documentation & Reporting


Draft, maintain, and update network design documentation, diagrams, and architecture plans as needed.

Prepare and deliver Maintenance Reports, detailing system status, patches, updates, backups, and security vulnerabilities.

Provide Outage/Impact Reports, documenting network outages and their effect on operations.

Produce additional reports and documentation as required by government leadership.


Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination


Interact with client engineers and end-users, addressing technical questions and support requests.

Interface with vendors for procurement and maintenance of IT infrastructure, ensuring cost-effective and scalable solutions.

Work closely with cross-functional IT teams to align network solutions with business objectives and security policies.

Continuous Improvement & Emerging Technologies


Stay informed on industry trends, emerging tools, and best practices in networking, cybersecurity, and IT infrastructure.

Identify and implement technical innovations that enhance network performance, efficiency, and security.

Provide training and knowledge transfer to team members on proactive network monitoring and troubleshooting techniques.

Required Skills, Experience & Qualifications:


Minimum Bachelor of Science, degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a scientific or technical discipline AND five (5) years of experience; OR minimum of ten (10) years of related experience is required in lieu of a degree.

Must have an Active TS security clearance with SCI eligibility.

Must be a U.S. citizen.

Must possess one of the following Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP), Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE), Cisco Certified Design Expert (CCDE), and/or Cisco Certified Architect (CCAr) professional certifications.

Experience with Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) for network access control, policy enforcement, and security posture assessments.

Proficient in designing, configuring, managing, and troubleshooting Cisco and Palo Alto network devices, including firewalls, routers, and switches to ensure optimal security and performance.

Strong communication skills (oral and written) relay concise messaging and reporting to all levels of management.
