SMX is seeking a Security Specialist to provide security management. As a Security Specialist you will execute tasks and practices including Industrial, Personnel, Information, and Physical Security disciplines and provide a deep understanding of their interrelationships, as well as their related policies, programs, and procedures.

This position requires a DoD TS/SCI security clearance which requires US citizenship for work on DoD contracts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Preform Background Investigations including surge efforts
  • Preform Background Adjudications and review
  • Support ad hoc requirements from the customer with the issuing and review of DD-254's
  • Ability to flex in the areas of InfoSec, PerSec, ComSec, and industrial security based off the needs of customer (DHS)
  • Provide guidance on SCIF management with the ability to operate if needed
  • Carry out "read on" and "read off" responsibilities related to SCI clearance requirements
  • Have working knowledge of DISS and the roles associated along with experience using the system
  • Provide overall security management policy and procedure guidance to the customer in ad hoc requests
  • Perform personnel and information security including developing an organizational approach to complying with the customer's mission and vision statement
  • Work independently and closely with senior specialists or task leads
  • Assist the customer in updating and commenting on security policies to include joint agreement and other projects
  • Responsible for updating local policies in accordance with recently updated Intelligence Community and Departmental Policies and Directives
  • Collaborate in group environment with projects performing and supporting the clearance eligibility of government and contractor personnel

Required Skills & Experience
  • Required clearance: TS/SCI
  • Bachelor's degree and 7-10 years experience in collateral and intelligence activities
  • Strong knowledge of security practices with emphasis in personnel, physical, information, and/or industrial security
  • Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) Certification desirable
  • Proficiency in developing and championing innovative ideas and Policy and Procedure
  • Familiarity of working with government agencies and industry partners solutioning best practices, processes, and procedures
  • Key Experiences Include: integrated security services skill sets in the following areas:
    • Special Security Officer (SSO) Operations
    • Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) operations
    • SCI Personnel Security
    • SCI Information Security; SCI Physical Security
    • SCI TEMPEST
    • SCI Industrial Security

The proposed salary for this position is:

$105,000 - $175,300 USD
