Kaizen Approach is currently looking to hire a Software Engineer (SWE) responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing complex software systems, including processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, and real-time systems. In this role, you will work individually or as part of a team, reviewing and testing software components to ensure adherence to design requirements while documenting test results. Your responsibilities will include resolving software problem reports and utilizing appropriate software development methodologies. You will provide input to system design, focusing on hardware/software trade-offs and software reuse. Additionally, you will analyze requirements from the system level to individual software components. The position also involves leveraging Commercial Off-the-shelf (COTS) and Government Off-the-shelf (GOTS) solutions where applicable.

Salary Range: A variety of factors can impact the final salary offered, including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and wage rates, relevant work experience, specialized skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
The expected salary range for this position is: $180,000.00 - $270,000.00

Requirements:
- Must have the ability to analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements, develop software solutions, and investigate problem areas by conferring with users or system engineers and analyzing systems flow, data usage, and work processes.
- Must be able to debug existing software, correct defects, and modify software to adapt to new hardware or improve performance.
- Must possess the ability to design and code new software or modify existing software to add features and implement complex algorithms while ensuring adherence to strict timing and resource constraints.
- Must have the ability to integrate existing software into new or modified systems, develop simple data queries for databases, and design or implement complex database interfaces and queries.
- Must possess the ability to write or review software and system documentation, provide recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards, and oversee one or more software development teams.
- Must be able to assist with developing and executing test procedures for software components and perform quality control on team products.
- Must have the ability to confer with system and hardware engineers to derive software requirements, coordinate software system installation, and monitor equipment functioning to ensure operational specifications are met.
- Must have fourteen (14) years of experience as a Software Engineer (SWE) in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
- Must have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university; alternatively, four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may substitute for a degree.
- Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph is required.
