Credence has is actively seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide technical support and electronics maintenance for the United States Coast Guard (USCG) Integrated Ship Control Training System (ISCTS) associated with the 225 foot Seagoing Buoy Tender (WLB) and the 175 foot Coastal Buoy Tender (WLM) classroom laboratories located C5ISC Portsmouth, VA.

Credence has is actively seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide technical support and electronics maintenance for the United States Coast Guard (USCG) Integrated Ship Control Training System (ISCTS) associated with the 225 foot Seagoing Buoy Tender (WLB) and the 175 foot Coastal Buoy Tender (WLM) classroom laboratories located C5ISC Portsmouth, VA.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the duties listed below
- Performs corrective and preventative maintenance on a variety of electronics equipment and ancillary components that make up the ISCTS (WLB-225 and WLM-175 training simulators); equipment includes but is not limited to MPCMS, DPS, Electronic Chart and Display Information System (ECDIS), and SPS-50 Radar, (Furuno commercial marine Radar).
- Performs system operational checks and setup of simulations in support USCG ISCTS maintenance classes; ensures operational availability during scheduled classes.
- Develops and maintains ISCTS technical documentation to include troubleshooting guides, technical manuals, system drawings, and connection details.
- Performs or supports systems software upgrades and associated testing efforts.
- Tracks, orders, and maintains spare parts using Fleet Logistics System (FLS) while supporting management of the Higher Level Assembly (HLA) for lab equipment.
- Maintains a clean and safe training laboratory environment at all times.
- Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of applications to draft reports, emails, presentations, create system architecture and integration diagrams, and possess a thorough knowledge of performing independent research.
- Provide on-site, phone, and email support for the purpose of technical corrective maintenance to resolve system casualties.
- Working knowledge of shipboard electronic system installation and integration process and applicable Government standards.
- Working knowledge of troubleshooting and corrective maintenance involving complex electronic navigation systems.
- Active Secret Clearance
- Associate Degree in Engineering (electronics, electrical, or system), or Electronics Maintenance, or completion of USCG or completion fo a DOD/DHS Technical School. Comprehensive knowledge of DOD military specifications and standards. At least three years of experience working with MPCMS, DPS, ECDIS, and Radar systems, or similar systems.
- Education and USCG/DOD Training may be substituted as follows:
- Comprehensive knowledge of DOD military specifications and standards. Demonstrated Expert: Five (5) years of concurrent, relevant experience in electronics maintenance and installation of shipboard navigation and integrated positioning systems, (i.e., DPS, ECDIS/ECS, MPCMS, and Radar).
- Office and training labratory working environments.
