The Maritime System Solutions Portfolio within the Maritime Systems Division (MSD) is seeking an experienced, dynamic, technical, and customer focused Senior Program Manager to join the Leidos team in San Diego, CA to support a multidisciplined team in the execution of a US Navy contract.  The scope of the business activities within this contract includes: underwater vehicle systems, maritime sensors, supporting information technology & engineering services for complex maritime applications, development and support of subsea data acquisition systems, and other complex subsea maritime activities.

The Senior Program Manager will be responsible for the leadership, execution, development, growth, technical excellence, and demonstration of the program.  Position will require Program Manager to report daily into an office and/or customer location in San Diego, CA, closely coordinate with a geographically distributed team, and periodic travel to support customer needs. 

MSD is an industry leader in developing, applying, and advancing the state-of-the-art signal processing technologies for Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) systems including distributed netted sensor systems, communications systems, positioning systems, tactical decision systems, and autonomous unmanned platforms.  Leidos maritime systems are addressing complex mission requirements and pioneering impressive firsts in the application of advanced signal processing solutions to the full range of maritime missions. 

Primary Responsibilities
  • Provides leadership and responsibility for a program with complex ocean hardware/software systems within a customer focused environment.
  • Fulfill customer requirements with technical, innovative, cost-effective, and reliable solutions that appropriately leverage advanced technologies and are suitable in support of U.S. Navy programs.
  • Provide subcontractor and supplier direction and oversight.
  • Collaborate with customer, Leidos technical leads, Leidos engineers, and subcontractors to support daily activities, identify gaps and holes in programs, financial reporting, CDRL development, procurements, solutioning with engineers and customers, and long-term planning.
  • Collaborate with Portfolio Manager and other program managers to support business development activities.
  • Report daily to worksite location in San Diego, CA.


Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or similar technical discipline.
  • 20+ years’ total experience, with at least 15 years of Program management experience.
  • Strong customer focus, ability to support team leadership, and establish strong, collaborative working relationships with government customers, technical staff, senior managers, and peers.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, along with excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Contribute to the successful capture of competitive US DoD contracts.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Must have current Secret clearance


Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP certification
  • Experience managing program execution in a CMMI Level 3 or above environment and/or in accordance with ISO-9001 certified processes
  • Experience managing Programs of Record for the DoD with EVMS requirements

Experience in the US Navy programs, contracts, and mission requirements

Pay Range: Pay Range $134,550.00 - $243,225.00

Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
