Scenario Lead

JANUS Research Group is supporting the Mission Command Battle Lab (MCBL) at Fort Leavenworth, KS. The MCBL is the Army Futures Command's (AFC) premier lab for experimentation on the Command and Control (C2) Warfighting Function, Echelons Above Brigade and the integration of all Warfighting Functions. MCBL investigates emerging concepts and technologies, and explores the deep future through experimentation, studies, and prototyping to inform C2 capability development and Echelons Above Brigade modernization efforts. MCBL proposes solutions within the Science and Technology community, the generating force, and operational force.

Job Responsibilities:

• Serve as the Scenario Lead providing scenario support to Concept Development and Prototype Experimentation for MCBL.
• Responsible for interfacing with and briefing Government personnel (Military and Civilian) of all ranks.
• Develop, implement, oversee, and improve as necessary those processes and procedures required to address and satisfy the Government's contractually defined objectives while ensure high quality products and services.
• Perform administrative functions such as reviewing and writing reports, updating project plans, approving expenditures, and making decisions about department related purchases.
• Coordinate and/or attend cross-functional meetings of personnel related to project.
• Report status, develop project-related documentation and implement lessons learned.
• Participate in project performance review meetings and discussions (when required).
• Responsible for developing and accessing documentation in the form of reports, proposals, white papers, and briefings.
• Responsible to generate and review slides in support of CONOPs and conditions, support material and additional background information.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements / Qualifications:

• Security Clearance: Secret required
• United States Citizenship
• BA or BS from an accredited university
• 5 years' experience in scenario development supporting experimentation and Joint exercises.
• Possess a breadth of knowledge from service in EAB planning and Joint Staff planning experience. Joint Service expertise/experience and willingness or desire to learn the Operational Wargaming System (OWS) and provide unit generation support of tokens that must be produced for each team (Red/Blue) to be used in Vassal (open-source game engine for building and online adaptations on a board.
• Ability to design and conduct relatively simple, scalable, and quick low-overhead agile wargames that help inform C2 analytical research, foresight, and advisory concept development activities, desired.
• Generate and review slides in support of CONOPs and conditions, support material and additional background information.
• Completion of IA Level I Training within 30 days of contract start date.
• Other duties as outlined, such as providing analytical and scenario support to the event, as well as conducting futures research and foresight activities.
