JOB SUMMARY
The Information Technology Infrastructure (ITI) Lead will oversee the progression of multiple projects and the organization of assisting personnel throughout each project’s lifecycle. You will will work under the supervision of the Program Manager and will be overseeing up to 3 or more projects simultaneously. The ITI Lead will be expected to visit sites in person to review project status (including ships, shipyards, and Naval bases).
RESPONSIBILITIES
Review project instructions and drawings to ascertain material requirements, cable paths, equipment locations, test specifications, procedures, objectives, test equipment, determine nature of technical problems, and devise possible solutions.
Suggest locations where equipment and cables should be set up and routed.
Compose detailed drawings and/or sketches for drafting room completion.
Devise, fabricate, and assemble new or modified mechanical components or assemblies for product set up and conduct tests of complete units and components under operational conditions.
Record test procedures, results, numerical, and graphical data, and recommendations for changes in product or test methods.
Travel to various work locations (both local and long-distance)
Install electrical or networking equipment such as, routers, switches, patch panels, and Uninterrupted Power Supplies (UPS), as well as copper/fiber network cables (terminations in buildings, Naval ships, and barges).
Troubleshoot problems with existing equipment and maintain proper working condition.
Test old and new installation connections.
Assist the Program Manager with work and travel schedules as needed.
Supervise assigned subcontractors on day-to-day work assignments and assist with tracking hours.
Ensure team members are following instructions and following “Good Engineering Practices”. Be Safety Observer on all job sites to include the wearing of any required safety gear/PPI.
Submit Daily Status Reports (DSR) as required.
Directly interface with on-site customers to ensure they receive a professional, high-quality experience.
Ensure all team members consistently conduct themselves in a professional manner including wearing appropriate attire while on Company property, customer property, work site, and all times when representing MI Technical Solutions.
REQUIREMENTS
Hold or be able to obtain a government clearance (DoD Secret)
Hold or be able to obtain a US passport
2+ years’ experience in network infrastructure installation
Strong knowledge of infrastructure technologies (servers, networks, storage)
Deep analytical skills and superior communication and listening skills
Exceptional leadership, time management, facilitation, and organizational skills
Experience working in a fast-paced and independent environment
PREFERENCES
Experience in infrastructure project management
Experience in both leading/supervising multiple teams
Military experience
