Position Overview: The Warehouse Specialist plays a crucial role in managing inventory, handling equipment, coordinating logistics, ensuring compliance, and providing support for project activities related to telecommunications and IT infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

Inventory Management:

  • Maintain accurate records of contractor-furnished equipment (CFE), materials, and supplies
  • Track incoming and outgoing shipments of telecommunications and IT equipment
  • Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure compliance with contract requirements
  • Manage sub-custody records for principal end items and conduct periodic inventories to verify stock levels and condition
  • Equipment Handling:
  • Receive, inspect, and store equipment such as cables, connectors, hardware, tools, and sensitive IT components
  • Ensure secure storage and preservation of hardware and software to prevent damage or loss
  • Prepare equipment for deployment to various project sites while adhering to safety protocols

Logistics Coordination:

  • Coordinate with project teams to ensure timely delivery of materials to job sites across Hawaii and other designated areas
  • Oversee transportation of equipment and materials while supporting procurement activities by fulfilling material requests
  • Supervise staging materials for deployment, including inventory counts, receiving, shipping, and embarkation processes
  • Compliance and Documentation:
  • Ensure all stored materials meet Department of Defense (DoD) security, safety, and operational standards
  • Maintain detailed records of equipment movement using warehouse management systems (WMS), including tagging, labeling, and locator systems
  • Prepare Supply Discrepancy Reports (SDR) in response to any inventory or shipment discrepancies
  • Assist in preparing documentation for audits or inspections in compliance with DoD regulations (e.g., DODD 8570.01)

Project Support:

  • Provide logistical support for site preparation tasks
  • Assist in organizing materials for specific task orders
  • Support equipment and materials ordering, receipt, and proper handling/storage
  • Safety and Maintenance:
  • Supervise preventive maintenance programs for material handling equipment (MHE), including forklifts, tractors, and other machinery used in the warehouse environment
  • Maintain a clean, organized warehouse environment while adhering to workplace safety protocols


Working conditions: The position is in a warehouse environment with exposure to various equipment and materials. Must be able to work on the island of Hawaii and may require occasional travel.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizen with ability to obtain SECRET clearance
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree in logistics or related field preferred
  • 2-3 years of experience in warehouse management, preferably in a government or military setting
  • Familiarity with telecommunications and IT equipment handling procedures
  • Proficiency in inventory management software
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lift and move heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs)
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Knowledge of Department of Defense warehouse operations and regulations is a plus
