Our Clientis seeking qualified, creative, and customer-focused technical representative to provide Release and Deployment Management support remotely and at our customer site as the Release Manager.

Routine Duties Will Include:
This person will be a primary point of contact and responsible for providing Release and deployment management and support.
Use knowledge of MS Office Suite, ServiceNow, and tools specifically used to support the deployment of these devices is desired. For example, familiarity with ServiceNow will aid in deploying the hardware devices, ticket processing, and updating the CMDB to capture the change.
Excellent analytical and organizational skills preferred.
Primary Responsibilities:
The release manager is responsible for overseeing the enterprise patch release process responsibilities for the team, from planning and coordination to execution and post-release support, ensuring the team is aligned and working towards a smooth delivery of the release on schedule and within quality standards; they act as a liaison between development, testing, operations, and other relevant teams to manage the release lifecycle effectively.
Software Development & Deployment Knowledge:
Understanding of SDLC (Software Development Lifecycle) and Agile/DevOps practices.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps).
Knowledge of cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Ansible.
Version Control & Configuration Management:
Proficiency with Git, GitHub, Bitbucket, or other version control systems.
Understanding of release branching strategies (Git Flow, Trunk-Based Development).
Automation & Deployment Tools:
Familiarity with Ansible, Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, SCCM, or Puppet for deployment automation.
Monitoring & Risk Management:
Ability to assess release risks, implement rollback strategies, and monitor deployments using tools like Splunk, Prometheus, Datadog.
Organizing and Scheduling Releases:
Working with various agency groups to understand and schedule patches, upgrades, releases, etc.
Conduct Joint Release and Deployment Management Meetings:
Establish agenda, maintain meeting invite, conduct meeting; provide minutes and actions.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (preferred but not required) and 4-8 years relevant experience. A master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field and 2-6 years of relevant experience is a plus but not always required.
5+ years of experience in release management, software development, or IT operations.
3+ years of experience managing enterprise software releases in a multi-team, multi-vendor, or cloud-based environment.
Strong understanding of release management best practices, Agile methodologies, and DevOps principles.
Experience working in ITIL-driven environments with knowledge of Change, Incident, and Problem Management.
Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools, version control systems, and deployment automation.
Project & Stakeholder Management Skills:
Excellent communication & coordination skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and business leaders.
Strong problem-solving and risk assessment abilities to identify deployment risks and develop mitigation plans.
Experience with project management tools (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow, Confluence, Microsoft Project) for tracking releases.
Ability to manage multiple releases across different teams while ensuring alignment with business priorities.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Familiarity with the ITIL 3 or 4 Framework.
A self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to diagnose patch-related issues.
Excellent documentation skills to track test cases, patch deployment results, and remediation steps.
Collaboration & Communication to work with DevOps, security, and IT operations teams on patch validation.
Must be able to obtain an NRC Public Trust Security Clearance prior to start (may take anywhere between 1-3 months).
Due to contract requirements, U.S. Citizenship OR U.S. Permanent Residence is required.
Certifications:
ITIL 4 Foundation – Ability to obtain ITILv4 Foundation Certification
Agile, Scrum, or SAFe Certifications (e.g., PMI-ACP, Certified Scrum Master) – for Agile release management.
DevOps Certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Azure DevOps Engineer, Docker/Kubernetes Certifications) – to support DevOps-driven release cycles.
