Technical Document & Drawing Information System (DIS) Coordinator

This position requires the ability to obtain a Public Trust & US Citizenship required per our government client.

Responsible for managing technical documentation and coordinating the Drawing Information System (DIS) to ensure compliance with engineering. Oversees document control, version tracking, and distribution of technical materials. Supports system implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting, collaborating with engineering teams to optimize isolation procedures. Ensures adherence to industry regulations and company policies while improving documentation workflows.

This position supports the Department of Energy (DOE) Western Area Power Administration (WAPA) Headquarters in Lakewood, CO providing technical services to the Office of Design and Engineering under this Technical Support Services contract.

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Technical Document & Drawing Information System (DIS) Coordinator: $40-$44 Hourly

Pay commensurate with experience.

Technical Document & Drawing Information System (DIS) Coordinator Responsibilities Include:
  • Utilize WAPA's DIS to manage drawing workflow and drawing numbers between the HQ Design & Engineering office and WAPA's Regional Offices.
  • Manage the reservation of new drawing numbers and revision levels to existing drawings for HQ and Regional Offices.
  • Coordinate DIS upgrades with application maintenance personnel in WAPA's Information Technology (IT) group.
  • Coordinate DIS enhancement requests from users with application maintenance personnel in IT.
  • DIS data integrity with application maintenance personnel in IT.
  • Utilize DIS Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) information to process CIP drawing archive and assist HQ and Region users in CIP drawing management.
  • Support and train WAPA personnel and DIS Regional Drawing Coordinators on DIS functionality.
  • Maintain Standard Operating Procedures manual on DIS program and upgrades.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Technical Document & Drawing Information System (DIS) Coordinator Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • BA/BS is desired.
  • Additional courses in business machines, office operations, business communications, commercial photographic techniques and/or equivalent experience.
  • 7-10 years related work experience related to engineering electronic and manual drawing management, archiving files and aperture card storage/retrieval systems.
  • Experience with document management, Microsoft Office Products and Windows.
  • Utilizing and applying computer software including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams) and Adobe Professional.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of Quality Assurance principles is required.
  • Working knowledge of federal and state codes/guidelines is required.
  • Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional and courteous manner in diversified situations.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a Public Trust & US Citizenship required per our government client.
