Job Description
Ennoble First is seeking an AWS Systems Manager (SSM) Software Distributor Package Manager to provide software packaging, deployment, and maintenance under the Foundation Sustainment Services (FS2) contract. This role will be responsible for developing scripts, deploying software updates, and troubleshooting package management issues within a secure AWS environment consisting of several hundred Windows Server 2019 instances.

$70,000-$125,000

Job Description
Ennoble First is seeking an AWS Systems Manager (SSM) Software Distributor Package Manager to provide software packaging, deployment, and maintenance under the Foundation Sustainment Services (FS2) contract. This role will be responsible for developing scripts, deploying software updates, and troubleshooting package management issues within a secure AWS environment consisting of several hundred Windows Server 2019 instances.
Primary Responsibilities
- Plan, execute, and monitor software update deployments using AWS Software Distributor to ensure compliance and security across all instances.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to train and enable software distributor tasks for Windows instances.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software deployment issues, including failed installations, update conflicts, and compliance discrepancies.
- Design and implement automated workflows for deploying third-party software updates using AWS Software Distributor.
- Collaborate with application owners and IT teams to package and deploy software applications using AWS Software Distributor, following best practices for compatibility and usability.
- Monitor and analyze deployment success rates, compliance levels, and system performance using AWS Systems Manager reports and dashboards.
- Continuously optimize software deployment processes to improve efficiency, reliability, and scalability.
Minimum Education/Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of relevant experience, OR additional years of experience considered in lieu of a degree.
- Experience with scripting/automation using PowerShell.
- Experience with software installation, upgrades, and troubleshooting in Windows environments.
- 2+ years of AWS Systems Manager (SSM) experience, OR 1+ year of AWS Systems Manager experience and 2+ years of SCCM/MECM package development experience.
- DoD 8570 IAT Level II or higher certification required upon hire, such as:
- CompTIA Security+ CE
- CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)
- Basic understanding and experience with remote administration, virtualized computing, and cloud computing (AWS preferred).
- Familiarity with Configuration Management and Change Management processes.
- Experience working within a SAFe Agile framework.
- US Citizenship required due to the nature of the government contracts supported.
- Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph required OR active TS/SCI with willingness to obtain a Polygraph.
Desired Qualifications
- 4+ years of direct AWS Systems Manager experience, including Software Distributor package development.
- Experience troubleshooting AWS IAM roles and permissions.
- DevOps experience, particularly with GitLab.
- Proficiency in Python 3 with Boto3, Amazon CLI, or other scripting languages.
- Experience with Ansible for RHEL 9 automation.
- Experience with Atlassian Jira and Confluence.
- AWS SysOps Administrator or Solutions Architect Associate certification preferred.
Pay Range:
$70,000-$125,000
