THE WORK
* This position is waiting for funding and is subject to change.
- Navigation engineer is responsible for planning, evaluating, and testing of shipboard Gyro systems with some cross over with exterior communication (EXCOM) voice, and satellite communications equipment primarily on DDG 51 class ships interfacing within the AEGIS Combat System. Systems such as UHF, VHF, Link 16, Link 11, SATCOM, Cryptographic equipment and other various antennas will be tested.
- The individual will be responsible for handling Keymat functions to include receipt, loading, inventory control and destruction for exterior communication (EXCOM) systems testing.
*US Citizenship is required. Qualified candidate must be able to obtain an Interim DoD Secret Security Clearance prior to starting this position with the ability to obtain a final Secret DoD Security Clearance.

Basic Qualifications:
* This position is waiting for funding and is subject to change.
• Candidate must have the ability to work in a collaborative team-based environment.
• Candidate will be required on an infrequent basis to go underway on units and to frequently work on moored pier-side units. Physical ability to navigate steep stairs and ladders as well as working in confined spaces is a requirement.
*US Citizenship is required.
- Qualified candidate must be able to obtain an Interim DoD Secret Security Clearance prior to starting this position with the ability to obtain a final Secret DoD Security Clearance.
Desired Skills:
Military computer system platform experience (IE: Aegis, LCS, LHA, Coast Guard) with an EXCOM focus.
Strong troubleshooting skills, to isolate problem to root cause.
Naval shipboard experience.
Demonstrate ability to own the process and move forward with limited direction.
Self-Starter.
Positive and thorough communication skills, both verbal and written.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
