Description
The Junior Operations Analyst at the Marine Corps Warfighting Lab (MCWL) will assist in designing, coordinating, and executing military exercises using Modeling, Simulation, Analysis, and Wargaming (MS&A) techniques. This role will support the integration of general MS&A expertise with the unique operational, doctrinal, and technological requirements of the Marine Corps.
Environment: The MCWL is a forward-thinking organization dedicated to exploring and validating future warfare concepts and technologies. The Junior Operations Analyst will work in a collaborative environment, closely with researchers, technologists, and operational planners to ensure exercises are relevant and contribute to the Marine Corps' modernization and readiness.

The Junior Operations Analyst at the Marine Corps Warfighting Lab (MCWL) will assist in designing, coordinating, and executing military exercises using Modeling, Simulation, Analysis, and Wargaming (MS&A) techniques. This role will support the integration of general MS&A expertise with the unique operational, doctrinal, and technological requirements of the Marine Corps.
- Assisting in designing and developing mission scenarios aligned with Marine Corps doctrine and expeditionary warfare principles
- Supporting the integration of land, sea, and air components of the FMF within simulation environments
- Helping design scenarios simulating unique challenges of expeditionary operations
- Collaborating with the MCWL to test new concepts, equipment, and technologies in simulated environments
- Assisting in exploring and integrating emerging technologies into exercise scenarios
- Supporting the coordination of joint and multinational exercises with other military services and international partners
- Assisting in overseeing the integration of various simulation systems and platforms for a cohesive training environment
- Helping manage exercise planning and execution, making minor adjustments as necessary
- Assisting in collecting, analyzing, and reporting on data generated during exercises
- Supporting coordination with multiple agencies and international partners

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Military Science, Operations Research, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field
- 2-4 years of experience in Modeling, Simulation, & Analysis (MS&A) or a related field
- Basic understanding of Marine Corps doctrine, tactics, and procedures (TTPs)
- Knowledge of Marine Corps organization and capabilities
- Familiarity with data collection, analysis, and reporting
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively with diverse teams, including military personnel and civilian experts
- Understanding of joint and coalition operational environments
Desired Skills
- Experience with military-related simulation tools and platforms
- Creative thinking to assist in adapting scenarios for testing new concepts and technologies
- Willingness to explore and integrate emerging technologies into exercise scenarios
- Relevant certifications in simulation software and tools (e.g., DIS, NGTS, AFSIM, ASCOT, NetLogo, VBS3)
- Experience with inter-agency coordination
