Description
The Information / Knowledge Management (IM/KM) Specialist will support the MS&A team at the Marine Corps Warfighting Lab (MCWL) by managing organizational information, knowledge, and configuration items. This role involves developing and implementing IM/KM strategies, ensuring compliance with CM processes, and facilitating knowledge sharing and collaboration.
Environment: The Information / Knowledge Management Specialist will work on a military base supporting a military team. The role requires adherence to military security protocols and handling of classified information, including TS and SAP. The Information / Knowledge Management Specialist must be able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and be available for on-call support as needed.

The Information / Knowledge Management (IM/KM) Specialist will support the MS&A team at the Marine Corps Warfighting Lab (MCWL) by managing organizational information, knowledge, and configuration items. This role involves developing and implementing IM/KM strategies, ensuring compliance with CM processes, and facilitating knowledge sharing and collaboration.
- Developing and implementing IM/KM strategies and policies
- Managing documentation, records, and content across various systems
- Ensuring compliance with ATCs (Authority to Connect) and ATOs (Authority to Operate)
- Identifying knowledge gaps and develop strategies to capture, share, and reuse knowledge
- Creating and maintaining knowledge repositories and communities of practice
- Managing configuration items and changes, ensuring proper control and documentation
- Facilitating knowledge sharing through workshops, training, and collaboration tools
- Measuring and evaluating the effectiveness of IM/KM and CM initiatives
- Providing technical support and training on IM/KM and CM systems
- Staying updated on new technologies, tools, and best practices in IM/KM and CM
- Leading change management efforts to ensure successful adoption of IM/KM and CM initiatives
- Communicating the benefits and importance of IM/KM and CM to stakeholders

Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Information Management (IM) and/or Knowledge Management (KM)
- Strong understanding of IM/KM principles, practices, and tools
- Experience with configuration management (CM) processes and tools
- Proficient in records management, content management, and document control
- Knowledge of change management, collaboration, and knowledge sharing
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Desired Skills
- Experience with information and knowledge management systems (e.g., SharePoint, Confluence, Alfresco)
- Familiarity with CM tools (e.g., Jira, Git, CMDBuild)
- Knowledge of military-specific systems and technologies
- Understanding of cybersecurity best practices and compliance requirements
- Experience with incident response and disaster recovery planning
- DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification is preferred
