We are seeking a skilled Engineering Services Specialist to support the facility office by providing expert engineering services. The ideal candidate will possess specialized experience in facility engineering, design documentation, and operational requirements, ensuring efficient building and site operations.
Essential Job Function
- Assist in preparing and assessing hardline drawings for design intent documents, including demolition/renovation plans, building system plans, and related designs.
- Conduct surveys to assess space, equipment, workflow, communication, and organizational requirements for client agencies.
- Develop engineering and related requirements to meet client needs.
- Interpret and analyze engineering drawings to ensure accurate implementation.
- Utilize engineering principles and techniques to provide solutions that optimize building and site operations.
- Conduct surveys, studies, and program analyses to develop recommendations for the development, construction, and/or renovation of building systems.
- Develop visual representations of data, such as drawings, presentations, and graphic layouts, to effectively communicate engineering solutions.
- Prepare project schedules and cost estimates to align with project time frames and budgets.
- Leverage automated technologies, such as Computer-Aided Design (CAD), to create, modify, and present specification drawings and layouts.
- Must have a Bachelors degree in Civil engineering OR:
- Architectural Engineering: Focus on building systems, structural design, and facility operations.
- Mechanical Engineering: with knowledge/experience with building systems like HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical components.
- Construction Engineering or Management: With knowledge/experience in project scheduling, cost estimation, and construction processes.
- Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software and other related technologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to create persuasive visual presentations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in Professional Engineering (PE) or related certifications.
- Experience working in a Department of Defense (DoD) environment, with knowledge of unique regulations and requirements.
- Knowledge of workplace tools and solutions to optimize operational efficiency.
- Practical knowledge of project scheduling methods and cost estimating procedures.
Skills and Competencies:
- Knowledge of engineering principles and the ability to apply them to facility operations.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills to conduct surveys and studies effectively.
- Ability to interpret complex technical drawings and create detailed visual representations.
- Proficiency in program analysis techniques and data collection methodologies.
