Job Description:
The Systems Administrator Lvl 2 is responsible for providing comprehensive support for all systems within the program's operational scope, including cloud-based environments. This role involves configuring, maintaining, and optimizing system hardware and software to comply with DoD, Navy, and local command policies while ensuring maximum system performance and security. The administrator will oversee server and email system management, perform troubleshooting and maintenance, and implement disaster recovery plans to ensure mission continuity. Job Description:
The Systems Administrator Lvl 2 is responsible for providing comprehensive support for all systems within the program's operational scope, including cloud-based environments. This role involves configuring, maintaining, and optimizing system hardware and software to comply with DoD, Navy, and local command policies while ensuring maximum system performance and security. The administrator will oversee server and email system management, perform troubleshooting and maintenance, and implement disaster recovery plans to ensure mission continuity. Position Responsibilities:
- Administer and maintain enterprise Lotus Domino systems across Tiers I, II, and III support levels.
- Configure and maintain system hardware and software in compliance with DoD, Navy, and local policies.
- Monitor server performance and system optimization for hardware and virtual environments.
- Manage user administration and access control for applications, servers, and virtual machines.
- Oversee and troubleshoot email messaging systems, including mailbox management, calendaring, and address book functions.
- Ensure data integrity through regular system backups, antivirus management, and log tracking.
- Support Information Assurance (IA) security procedures, including scanning and mitigation actions.
- Perform bi-weekly system maintenance, including patches and upgrades, minimizing user disruption.
- Coordinate with network owners to diagnose and resolve connectivity issues.
- Manage disaster recovery planning and ensure rapid response to system failures within 24 hours.
- Support compliance initiatives, including HBSS, PaaS, IaaS, SaaS, DevSecOps, and C2C24.
- Maintain an inventory of system assets, including software licenses and hardware components.
- Administer TeamStudio, Tomcat, JIRA, or similar software for version control and development support.
Experience Required:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other Engineering discipline required. (A minimum of 2-yrs of relevant experience in lieu of each year of formal education may be substituted for a formal degree.)
- 5 years of experience providing Tiers I, II, and III system administration for Lotus Domino across enterprise environments.
- 5 years of experience working with Windows Server, MS Office, Symantec Endpoint, and third-party tools.
- Experience supporting Information Assurance (IA) security procedures (e.g., scanning and mitigation).
- IAT Lvl II CSWF certification (Security+ or better)
- Proficiency in Windows Server administration and enterprise email system management.
- Strong understanding of networking, security policies, and access control management.
- Ability to monitor and analyze system performance and recommend optimizations.
- Expertise in backup and disaster recovery planning.
- Familiarity with DoD and Navy IT policies and security compliance.
- Experience with troubleshooting applications, messaging system, and network issues.
- Ability to manage and maintain databases, error logs, and antivirus protection.
- Cloud Foundations. (Will be required within six months of hire)
