This DoD organization manages the resourcing, development and sustainment of one of our nation's most coveted and capable platforms. An average day:
As Solutions Architect, you will design and implement hybrid cloud-based solutions, with a primary focus on deploying applications in both AWS and Azure government cloud environments. This position is instrumental in deploying and implementing scalable and extensible IT environments to meet the needs of the customer, while ensuring seamless integration with our development workflows. An average day:
As Solutions Architect, you will design and implement hybrid cloud-based solutions, with a primary focus on deploying applications in both AWS and Azure government cloud environments. This position is instrumental in deploying and implementing scalable and extensible IT environments to meet the needs of the customer, while ensuring seamless integration with our development workflows. In this position you will:
- Gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into technical solutions that address specific business problems and goals
- Create comprehensive solution designs including architecture diagrams, technical specifications, and implementation roadmaps
- Evaluate and recommend appropriate technologies, platforms, frameworks, and products based on business needs, technical constraints, and cost considerations
- Ensure solutions adhere to organizational architecture standards, security requirements, and compliance regulations
- Guide development teams through implementation challenges and serve as the primary technical authority for projects
- Collaborate with business leaders, product managers, developers, and other IT teams to align solutions with organizational objectives
- Assess existing systems and processes to identify improvement opportunities and technical debt reduction strategies
- Identify potential technical risks and develop mitigation strategies before and during implementation
- Create functional prototypes to validate architectural approaches and demonstrate technical feasibility
- Maintain comprehensive solution documentation including rationale for key decisions, constraints, and future considerations
- Conduct training sessions and create documentation to support knowledge transfer to implementation and support teams
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend innovative approaches that create competitive advantages
- As a requirement of this position, all candidates must be a U.S. Citizen. In accordance with 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(2)(C) , Epsilon will not consider candidates for this position who do not meet the aforementioned conditions.
- 10+ years of experience in cloud architecture, with a focus on designing and implementing complex cloud solutions.
- Must hold a current 8570/8140 IAT Level II Certification (CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP)
- Expert understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.), proficient in infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.), and deep experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Has designed several scalable, high-performance architectures, possesses a strong understanding of microservices, serverless, and other cloud-native approaches.
- Expert understanding of cloud security best practices, identity and access management, encryption, and compliance.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate technical solutions to diverse stakeholders.
- Extensive experience with Agile development methodologies and iterative development cycles.
- Must have an active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret with SCI eligibility or have an active Top Secret with SCI eligibility.
- Will be subject to a federal background investigation.
- Must be able to travel regularly, both domestically and internationally, international travel will require a current US Passport.
