THE POSITION
The Network Service Activation Specialist will focus on customer service for the DISN Consolidated Provisioning effort at the Columbus, Ohio location. This position will support the final phase of the consolidated provisioning process, focusing on implementation and coordination actions required to ensure end-to-end connectivity along defined circuit paths. The Network Service Activation Specialist will coordinate with customers, commercial vendors, and GSM-O II contractors for test and acceptance procedures.

The Network Service Activation Specialist will coordinate with customers, commercial vendors, and GSM-O II contractors for test and acceptance procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Technical Support & Compliance - Provide network infrastructure and administrative support, ensuring compliance with DISA policies, instructions, and strategic plans.
- IBOM Identification & Circuit Activation - Determine the Installation Bill of Material (IBOM) for circuit transitions, including classified and non-classified networks. Generate reports and estimates as needed.
- Implementation Requests (IRs) & Tracking - Create and track IRs for IBOM shipments, monitor status via government tracking systems (e.g., IIEx), and ensure service requests progress efficiently.
- Network Security & Coordination - Secure and manage network support, synchronize installation efforts with Commercial Service Providers (CSPs), and oversee testing and acceptance of transport facilities.
- Service Activation & Documentation - Track and document circuit implementation, manage equipment configurations, and maintain records in Meta Solv Solution (MSS) and other tracking systems.
- Communication & Order Documentation - Prepare thorough order documentation, technical specifications, and implementation requests to support SDN capacity builds and reconfigurations.
- Customer Outreach & Coordination - Maintain customer contact, provide status updates, and ensure real-time design changes are accurately reflected in network configurations.
- Completion & Compliance Reporting - Generate In-Effect Reports (IERs) and Ready for Use (RFUs), coordinate with site POCs and vendors, and ensure compliance with open system standards.
- Delayed Service & Status Reports - Issue Delayed Service Reports (DSRs), track circuits at risk of missing deadlines, and provide monthly service activation status reports to the government.
- Network Optimization & Upgrades - Apply technical skills to develop network improvements, oversee system upgrades, and ensure accurate network inventory and implementation.
- Safety & Compliance - Adhere to all security protocols, worksite access policies, training requirements, and other assigned duties to maintain operational integrity.
- Role Flexibility - Responsibilities may evolve based on customer or mission needs.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- 100% on-site in Columbus, OH.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum Active Secret Clearance; AND,
- 2+ years of military experience in a communications field or an applicable technical discipline; OR,
- 2+ years in an accredited technical training program, including one (1) year experience in an applicable communication field; OR,
- 2+ years' experience in a communication field or applicable technical discipline.
