How You'll Make an Impact:
As an Information Assurance Security Engineer at D2 Consulting, you'll play a crucial role in shaping and securing our client's systems. Your expertise will be vital in drafting policies, reviewing security agreements, managing Certification and Accreditation, and providing high-level security guidance. You'll be working with multiple teams to design, assess, and implement security systems that protect critical data and infrastructure.
You'll:
- Lead Security Strategy: Draft, review, and manage security policies, security architecture, and system designs, ensuring compliance with industry standards like ICD 503.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Work with developers, system engineers, project managers, and users to design systems with security as the foundation, making sure security requirements are met from day one.
- Respond to Security Incidents: Lead incident response activities, perform system audits, and work on corrective actions to address vulnerabilities.
- Advise on Compliance: Ensure that all systems comply with security protocols and regulations, and represent the Information System Security Manager (ISSM) to ensure the organization's security posture remains robust.
- Champion Security Best Practices: Conduct user security training, implement security configurations, and develop remediation strategies to protect against emerging threats.
- Work with Cutting-Edge Technology: Gain hands-on experience with AWS-based technologies, cloud infrastructure, and a wide range of security tools and systems.

- Security Expertise: Experience with ICD 503, IAM II certification, and understanding of Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes.
- Cloud and Network Security: Experience with Cloud Infrastructure/AWS and network perimeter security.
- Advanced Security Tools: Familiarity with tools like ACAS, HBSS, Carbon Black, and Tanium.
- Security Leadership: Ability to guide security assessments, audits, and incident response efforts, ensuring systems remain secure at all times.
- Versatile Technical Skills: Experience with Unix, RHEL, PowerShell, and network routing/VLAN technologies.
- Certifications: CISSP (or equivalent like CAP, GSLC, CISM).
- Experience: Background in network engineering, system administration, and security system design.
- Technical Expertise: Experience in performing security tasks ranging from design to implementation and troubleshooting.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent professional training or experience.
- Experience: 10-15 years of hands-on experience in data security administration.

- Compensation is unique to each candidate and relative to the skills and experience they bring to the position. The salary range for this position is typically $140-150k. This does not guarantee a specific salary as compensation is based upon multiple factors such as education, experience, certifications, and other requirements, and may fall outside of the above-stated range.
