Overview:
Job Title: Cloud Infrastructure Engineer
Work Location: Herndon, VA
Security Clearance: Top Secret/SCI Full Poly
Schedule: Full-Time
Due to the nature of the work and contract requirements, U.S. citizenship is required.
Responsibilities:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced individual to join our team as a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer. They will be a part of a fast-paced team that designs, builds, and maintains mission infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in two of the following areas: cloud, networking, and Linux. The experience would ideally be a combination of design, development, and implementation. The individual should have a solid understanding of securing and hardening infrastructure. The ideal candidate is one that is creative, motivated, and enjoys working with cutting edge technology. The individual will gain extensive experience with architecting and designing cloud-based infrastructure solutions and will have the ability to make an immediate impact on day-to-day operations within our team.
• Support the design and implementation of cloud-based networking architectures, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security in alignment with industry best practices.
• Design networks that span both cloud and traditional network technology.
• Analyze issues related to cloud applications and infrastructure, security vulnerabilities, and other potential risks and provide creative solutions.
• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience troubleshooting cloud, networking, and Linux related issues.
• Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new cloud or networking technologies.
• Troubleshoot issues and provide solutions to mitigate future problems.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to describe complex systems and applications to other team members and senior management.
• Ability to work within a team and offer creative solutions within contractual constraints.
• Experience with Ansible or the ability to script with any of the following languages is a bonus: Python, Bash, Terraform
Qualifications:
• Five (5) or more years of experience designing, implementing, and managing infrastructure-based solutions.
• The applicant should have strong experience within two of the following three areas: cloud infrastructure, networking, and Linux.
• The preferred candidate would have experience working with one or more of the following clouds: AWS, Azure, Google, and Oracle.
• Experience with the Linux operating system and applications such as iptables, syslog, SSH, etc.
• Strong preference for networking, Linux, and cloud networking Certifications
• Strong base level knowledge of cloud or networking security best practices
• Must be willing to travel up to 10% (both CONUS and OCONUS).
• Excellent oral and written communication to express complex technical concepts effectively.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues, analyze root causes, and develop practical solutions.
• Must be able to verify and maintain an active TS/SCI w Full Poly security clearance.
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug test.
Physical Requirements:
The work is performed in an office environment and is primarily sedentary in nature. The individual will be required to remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods of time and alternate between different stationary positions. The individual must also be able to move about the office at times. This position requires the ability to communicate frequently. This position may occasionally require the ability to ascend stairs, reach, stoop, kneel, lift light to medium objects, view and operate a computer, keyboard, telephone, and other office equipment and to withstand moderate noise and temperatures.
This position does require travel between various customer sites, in addition to travel for network installations, customer meetings, and other government and/or contractual needs.
