Essential Responsibilities
• Manage both Linux and Windows Server application servers supporting NALCOMIS Optimized Intermediate Maintenance Activity (OIMA) and Relational Supply I (RSUPPLY I) systems that form the backbone of naval aviation maintenance and supply operations.
• Manage server operations, maintain system security, process data files, and provide responsive customer support to squadron personnel.
• Establish and maintain system administrator accounts across all Virtual OOMA/OIMA servers, creating temporary passwords and ensuring compliance with Department of Defense security requirements. Performing system startup verification, monitoring connectivity, and reviewing automated process completion to maintain 99% system availability during operational hours.
• Data protection forms a critical component of your responsibilities as you perform full system backups of OIMA/OOMA Virtual Machine servers and verify successful completion.
• Maintain copies of essential data on both external storage devices and network drives, implementing scheduled verification procedures to ensure recoverability.
• Security maintenance includes updating virus definition files, preparing systems for monthly security scans, and coordinating with NMCI Service Provider Personnel to maintain compliance with DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides.
• Monitor system interfaces, database logs, and application performance, addressing any anomalies to maintain system integrity.
• Execute batch programs to process incoming requisition files, generating essential reports, and ensuring data transfers between systems occur correctly.
• When technical issues arise, you will provide responsive support to OIMA/OOMA users experiencing remote desktop access, connectivity, interface, or account problems, diagnosing and resolving issues or escalating to NAVWAR when necessary.
• Deployment support represents a particularly meaningful aspect of your work as you assist Squadron OOMA System Administrator personnel preparing for deployment.
• Coordinate hardware and software requirements with squadron staff and CNAP N422 Server Pool, verify physical server condition, and provide workspace for configuration.
• Coordinate equipment check-in, reconcile documentation, reformat external hard drives, and restore hardware to operational condition.
• Support responsibilities extend to NALCOMIS OOMA Squadron level host computers, where you will configure, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair systems to maintain operational readiness.


Qualifications and Requirements
• Strong experience administering Linux and Windows Server environments, with specific knowledge of virtualization technologies and enterprise backup solutions.
• Must possess an active IAT-II certification per DoD Directive 8570.1/8570.01M and maintain this certification throughout your employment.
• A current favorably determined Tier III background investigation is required for access to restricted facilities and the Navy Marine Corps Intranet.
• Physical requirements include the ability to lift to 50lbs, as you will occasionally need to move servers and related equipment.
• Strong documentation skills are essential, as you will maintain comprehensive records of system configurations, maintenance activities, and support interactions.
