The role focuses on organizing, installing, and supporting computer systems for a government agency, including local and wide area networks (LANs and WANs), intranets, and other data communication frameworks. Responsibilities involve designing and analyzing network models, assisting with hardware and software procurement decisions, and providing technical support to users for problem resolution.
Key Responsibilities
Operate independently with minimal oversight while leading the IT operations team in network management.
Implement cybersecurity capabilities to maintain compliance with relevant authorities and ensure ongoing monitoring.
Manage COTS and GOTS tools for system security and performance metrics.
Support security assessments of servers, network devices, and security appliances to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
Develop operation and maintenance (O&M) checklists along with Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Utilize SIEM tools to monitor security events and create tailored reports.
Conduct daily cybersecurity operations for network management and maintenance.
Analyze cyber threats and contribute to incident response efforts.
Collaborate with security personnel to enhance network security across various classification levels.
Demonstrate advanced technical skills in platforms such as Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and various virtualization technologies.
Qualifications
Experience: 2-5 years in a related field.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience (4 years).
Certifications: Must obtain Information Assurance Technician Level III certification within six months of hire in compliance with DoD Directive 8570.01-M.
