Tyto Athene is searching for a Field Engineer to support a complex, multi-year contract to modernize mission-critical Department of Defense Information Technology infrastructure across dozens of sites in many countries in the European Area of Responsibility (AoR). Reports directly to the Tyto Athene Lead Enterprise Architect and executes the planning, design and execution of Engineering Implementation Plan (EIP), Site Survey Report (SSR) and daily/weekly/monthly engineering deliverable status report.
Responsibilities:
* Responsible for the technical aspects of the Survey, Design, and Engineering efforts including but not limited to: Classified and Controlled Unclassified IP Network including Army campus network and Army/DISA transport network, Wireless, Voice, Audio/Visual Video Telecommunication System, and Data Center virtualization technologies, Outside Plant (OSP), and Inside Plant (ISP) capabilities including telecommunications room remediation.
* Provide Onsite Tier 1 and Tier II level technical assistance support Tyto Athene's current and future project implementation.
* Coordinates with the customer and subcontractors to ensure to meet the installation schedule.
* Create and report on performance metrics for service delivery to identify areas requiring improvement.
* Utilizes available information, metrics and evaluations to develop recommendations for change.
* Provides input on internal processes to assist with service improvement initiatives.
* Provides installation and operational support of voice and data communications hardware and software systems.
* Work with the Site Project Manager and the technical stakeholders to capture functional and system requirements required to develop technical system solutions.
Required:
* 5 years or greater direct relevant technical experience on Army network.
* Knowledge of Main Distribution Frames (MDF), Intermediate Distribution Frames (IDF), Inside Plant Cabling (ISP) and Outside Plant Cabling (OSP) is required.
Desired:
* Minimum ten (5) years' experience IT engineering for complex projects or systems of similar scope and complexity including minimum three (2) years' experience in operation and management of Army NIPRNET and/or SIPRNET.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to develop and defend test plans and reports, plans of actions with milestones, and supporting rationales.
* Excellent documentation skill using Microsoft office product.
* Experience with network devices (Cisco/Juniper), voice (IP based and non-IP based), Wireless (Aruba), data center virtual environment (VMWare/Hyper-V) and Audio/Video VTC (Crestron/Extron/AMX/Cisco codec).
* Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA)
* Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) / Electronic Industries Alliance (EIA) or ISO/IEC 11801
* S. Citizenship
* Achieve and maintain the Technical Expert Status Accreditation (TESA) as defined in the Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) between the United States and the Federal Republic of Germany
Certification:
* Security+
* CCNP and/or JNCIS.
Clearance:
* Active Secret clearance required, Top Secret desired
