Outcomes:
• The successful candidate is expected to accomplish the following outcomes the first year in the position:
• Achieve the DAG’s vison and objectives as specified by the Director of Staff (HQSF/DS) and Deputy Director of Staff (HQSF/DDS).
• Perform accurate, high quality, and timely work which leads to positive feedback from the government.

Responsibilities:

• The Headquarters, United States Space Force (HQ USSF) and the Director of Staff (HQSF/DS) require assistance in organizational planning, implementation, maturation, and strengthening of the HQ Space Force. Integral in this effort is Director’s Action Group (DAG) that serves as the designated organization within the HQSF/DS responsible for high-visibility and/or high-importance actions requiring urgent action or coordination of staffing efforts across the HQSF. The DAG works alongside the DS Front Office and the Executive Secretariat to ensure that directives and requirements set by the DS are accomplished. Gemini seeks a DAG Lead that can lead, help guide, and accomplish this work.
• The DAG Lead is responsible for the DAG accomplishing the following objectives:
- Implements an organizational vision that integrates goals and priorities into daily operations. Continually strives to improve service and program performance. Consolidates performance metrics for each DS support line of effort and captures data to measure performance.
- Improves staff productivity by developing tools to regularly and strategically communicate status of taskers/staff packages with dashboard oversight. Collaborates with the Executive Secretariat to achieve the following goals: reduce time to close-out packages, improve quality of taskers by reducing errors on packages going to the Chief of Space Operations (CSO)/Vice CSO or higher Department of the Air Force “glass doors.”
- Facilitate alignment of performance plans with organizational goals and conduct end-to-end quarterly performance/program reviews with DS team leaders to identify lessons learned, adjust and adapt to circumstances, and improve visibility of opportunities and constraints.
- Cultivate collaboration, integration, and build coalitions across the Space Force, Air Force and Secretariat to support the development of governance between the Secretariat and the Space Force and a Headquarters Space Force Deputies Council to improve strategic communication. Ensure consistent scheduling and track/report 100% of high priority tasks to conclusion in a timely manner.

• The DAG Lead will perform the following functions on a daily or weekly basis:
- Prepare and consolidate materials for the weekly Deputies Council meeting. This meeting is chaired by the Deputy Director of Staff (DDS) and includes the deputies of the L2s, or their designated alternates. The DAG is responsible for the timely development of briefing materials, solicitation of information and topics of discussion from the respective organizations, and any actions which originate from the meeting.
- Development of materials and outlooks for the DS, presented at the beginning of every week. These outlooks include major congressional actions and awareness, strategic engagements where the DS or DDS will have a role, and major taskings requiring DS awareness.
- The DS serves as the clearinghouse for tasking of Government Accountability Office (GAO) tasks to the Space Force. When an audit action is received from SAF/AG, SF/DS determines the correct Office of Principal Responsibility (OPR) and any potential offices of coordinating responsibility (OCRs), assigns and coordinates the staffing of the audit tasks, and develops executive summaries or other materials for senior leader review of the audit. SF/DS coordinates the staffing of GAO actions from audit announcement through corrective action plans.
- Review of legislative proposals and congressional reports requiring the coordination of the DS.
- Congressional posture season preparation and collaboration with cross-DAF organizations on strategic messaging, testimony authorship, priority development, and budget discussions.
- The DAG also oversees the completion of certain ad-hoc tasks, as determined by SF/DS. These tasks include:
• Solicitation and consolidation of potential engagements, major decisions, milestone activities, and other Space Force items which would require action by the Secretary of Defense or the Secretary of the Air Force.
• Tracking and oversight of Senior Leader Summit (SLS) and other CSO-directed tasks which have been delegated to SF/DS for completion.
