CHIEF ENGINEER
National Radar Test Facility, White Sands Missile Range, NM

CLASSIFICATION: Chief Engineer
GRADE: Exempt; Regular Full-time
LOCATION: NRTF (White Sands Missile Range), Holloman AFB, NM - On Site
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Applicant will be required to perform the following duties: Lead Test Engineering in the design and development of test solutions that are responsive to Range User (RU) objectives. Lead technical staff in the identification, pursuit, development, and integration of technical solutions to emerging test requirements. Support Operations in the sustainment of National RCS Test Facility's Static RCS Measurement Capability System-of-System performance.
GENERAL DUTIES:
OTHER DUTIES: Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor as necessary to support contract/mission support requirements in job-related areas.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Physics or similar degree and 8-10 years' experience. 6-8 years' Radar and RCS experience desired, 5 years' Radar and RCS experience required. Proficient in the use of Mathcad; MATLAB; Python; IADS; and Microsoft Office.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a Top Secret security clearance. Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance. All selected candidates must undergo and successfully pass a background investigation and drug test as a condition of placement into this position. Supports NRTF operational objectives. Observes company Quality, Safety, Environmental, Security and Administrative policies; supports Process Improvement.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Job requirements will be performed in a well-lit, environmentally controlled atmosphere, as well as outdoors during performance of duties. Will be required to operate, inspect, and perform operator maintenance of government vehicles. Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a valid state driver's license.

GENERAL DUTIES:
- Expertise in applied mathematics including calculus, differential equations, stochastic processes, linear algebra, linear time invariant (LTI) signals and systems, numerical methods, and optimization theory.
- Expertise and experience with coherent radar theory, architecture, constituent components, concepts, enabling technologies and performance analysis, as well as the data and sensor fusion of relevant sources.
- Expertise in pulsed doppler, LFM and stepped frequency waveform requirements, design, and optimization.
- Expertise and experience in algorithm specification, development and signal processing with specific expertise and experience in dynamic RCS and ISAR of concepts, methods, techniques, algorithms, products, and interpretation.
- Knowledge of applied electromagnetics, electromagnetic scattering mechanisms and phenomenology, as well as wave propagation influences and corrections.
- Experience and understanding of Systems Engineering with a requirement to collaborate on the evolution of NRTF SE processes and practices.
- Systems engineering expertise includes the ability to develop, coordinate and present technical reviews.
