Role: Advanced Software Engineer

Client: Defense-Aerospace

Hourly Rate: up to $69/hr W2, non-benefited

Length: Long-term

Location: Scottsdale, AZ

Clearance: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required within a reasonable amount of time after of hire.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform requirements analysis, definition, and management.
  • Conduct functional analysis, performance evaluations, and system design.
  • Engage in system integration, verification, validation, and interface definition.
  • Execute technical planning, cost analysis, risk assessment, and supportability analyses.
  • Develop and evaluate system and network security to ensure compliance with government regulations.
  • Support system accreditation/certification evaluation and test processes.
  • Create system security documentation for new and existing systems.
  • Conduct modeling, simulation, and feasibility analysis of vendor products and COTS components.
  • Generate technical engineering documentation following standard practices and tools.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to junior engineers.
  • Develop CI/CD pipelines and test automation solutions.
  • Contribute to Agile-based software development and integration efforts.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience in satellite communications and ground-to-satellite communication.
  • Hands-on knowledge of ground operations systems.
  • Expertise in DevSecOps with experience in:
    1. AWS
    2. GitLab
    3. Kubernetes
    4. Docker
    5. Jenkins
    6. Ansible
    7. Terraform
  • Proficiency in Missile Warning/Missile Tracking system integration, testing, and operations.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and processes.

  • Strong collaboration and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and guide others.
  • Extensive communication skills, with experience interacting with executive leadership.
  • Subject matter expertise in multiple technical fields.
  • Ability to develop and enforce company policies affecting operations and compliance.
  • Capable of making high-impact decisions affecting security, compliance, and company reputation.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve system design weaknesses.
  • Ability to independently define technical approaches and contribute to major projects.
  • Experience with designing and developing complex frameworks and system architectures.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments requiring innovative solutions.
