Job Title: Contract Back-End Developer
Location: USA (100% Remote)
Hours: Up to 40 hours per week, project-to-project as needed
Role Overview:
We are seeking Back-End Developers to join our client on a contract basis. In this role, you will work remotely to design, develop, implement, and maintain robust server-side applications and services. You should be comfortable working independently, managing your time effectively, and communicating clearly with our team to ensure project success.
Responsibilities:
• Server-Side Development:
◦ Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable back-end systems.
◦ Build RESTful APIs and microservices to support front-end applications and integrations.
• System Optimization:
◦ Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize server-side code for performance and scalability.
◦ Enhance existing applications by identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes.
• Collaboration & Integration:
◦ Work closely with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features.
◦ Participate in code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.
• Testing & Debugging:
◦ Conduct thorough testing of back-end services to ensure optimal performance.
◦ Resolve software defects and issues promptly to maintain high-quality standards.
• Continuous Learning:
◦ Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in back-end development.
Additional Duties:
• Collaborate with team members to define project requirements and technical specifications.
• Utilize version control systems like Git or SVN for source code management.
• Maintain and enhance documentation related to back-end development processes.
• Assist in the integration of containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) as needed.
Qualifications:
• Technical Skills:
◦ Proficiency in server-side programming languages (e.g., Node.js, Python, Java, PHP, or Ruby).
◦ Strong experience with back-end frameworks and RESTful API development.
◦ Solid understanding of both relational (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases.
◦ Familiarity with containerization (e.g., Docker) and orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes) is a plus.
◦ Experience using version control systems such as Git, GitHub, or SVN.
• Soft Skills:
◦ Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
◦ Ability to work independently while also being an effective team collaborator.
◦ Strong communication skills to clearly articulate technical challenges and solutions.
• Experience:
◦ Proven experience in back-end development in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
◦ Prior experience working remotely on a project-to-project basis is preferred.
