We are currently seeking a seasoned Senior Systems Administrator with 8-10 years of experience to manage and maintain our IT infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, stability, and efficiency of our core systems and services. The role involves a mix of proactive management, routine maintenance, and rapid response to emergent issues.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee and manage the installation, configuration, and maintenance of our organization's server infrastructure, including operating systems and applications.
• Ensure optimal performance of IT systems through routine evaluation, updating, and testing.
• Perform monitoring of both cloud and on-prem environments ensuring all are operating within set parameters
• Lead technical resolution of high-level system issues, conducting root cause analysis, and preventing future occurrences.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of processes, policies, system configurations, and network maps.
• Manage end-user accounts, permissions, access rights, and storage allocations in accordance with best-practices regarding privacy, security, and compliance.
• Perform system backups and recovery procedures to ensure data protection and availability.
• Coordinate and communicate with stakeholders regarding IT systems and project updates.
• Manage and mentor junior system administration staff, delegating tasks and projects as necessary.
• Stay current with new technologies and best practices in systems administration to drive innovation and efficiency within the organization.
Skills/Experience
• Must be a clearable U.S. Citizen, and currently hold a SECRET or TS clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 8-10 years of experience in system administration, with a proven track record in a senior role.
• Strong technical knowledge of network and PC operating systems, particularly Windows Server 2012/2016/2019, Linux is a plus
• Extensive experience with VMware or equivalent virtualization platforms, managing cloud assets such as Azure or AWS, as well as containerization technologies. Environment is in Azure – building in azure – that is a plus
• Strong technical knowledge with networking and troubleshooting network issues.
• Professional certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), Azure Administrator Associate or equivalent/higher cloud certification are advantageous.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
