Program Overview

Provides, protects, and defends enterprise information services to approximately 45,000 Army, joint and DoD customers across the European theater on a 24 x 7 x 365 days per year basis on classified, unclassified, and coalition networks.

About The Role

We are looking to add a Senior Data Developer, Team Lead to our analyst team. CFTC Market Data Operations (MDO) is responsible for the oversight, data architecture, and analytical support of electronic data received at the Commission. Working across all divisions, MDO provides agency-wide data strategy, knowledge management, and query support. MDO data support includes building custom data visualization tools, prototyping conceptual data models, generating custom reports, and providing overall guidance on how to leverage the data available at the Commission. The qualified individual must be local to the Chicago area. This is a hybrid position, with four days a week onsite schedule.

The Senior Data Analyst, Team Lead will work as an advisor to the customer and a trusted liaison between customer and Peraton leadership. The team lead is responsible for automation of the manual quality checks that are currently performed. This person will take up the current manual work as is and in parallel work to automate the manual checks.

What you will do:

  • Serves in a technical lead role, responsible for overseeing the work of the 3 data operations specialists
  • This role will require performing routine data checks as outlined below and development and automation of the quality checks
  • Communicates with exchange personnel to request incomplete data and assure the resolution of discrepancies
  • Ensure that reporting entities submit position data accurately and is complete; ensure appropriate corrective action is taken
  • Request missing position data from the reporting entities and ensure that the requested information is received. Missing data is submitted electronically
  • Monitor the receipt of daily exchange reporting which includes permanent record and clearing member data
  • Analyzes a variety of futures and other derivatives data by monitoring reports filed by exchanges, futures commission merchants, traders, and resolving reporting problems
  • Request and review submitted forms for unidentified accounts
  • Enter data into Integrated Surveillance System (ISS) and ensure that the account is associated with the correct trader
  • Resolve data issues related to the weekly publication of the Commitment of Traders report
  • Perform data reviews to ensure that submitted data is complete and matches source data at reporting firm
  • Monitor the performance of market participants with regard to timeliness of submissions, the number of errors submitted on data files, discrepancies between what was reported and what was cleared
  • Review and analysis of firms' position, ownership and control data
  • Review and analysis of futures and options data, and market data for compliance
  • completeness, consistency and quality
  • Review and analysis of data published on Commission reports
  • Receives and/or enters data submitted on the Call Cotton form (Form 304)
  • Quality analysis of transactional, position, ownership and control data
  • Responding to data inquiries from other divisions

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • 5 years with BS/BA; Additional 4 years of experience maybe accepted in lieu of the degree
  • Working knowledge of derivatives market (futures, options, etc)
  • Experience working and automation/development in an AWS environment
  • Experience with R, Python, S3, Redshift, RDS, DMS, SageMaker, QuickSight
  • Experience in Microsoft SQL Server database
  • SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) experience
  • SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
  • Statistical Analysis System (SAS)
  • Familiarity with SAS JMP
  • Matrix Laboratory (MATLAB) experience
  • Experience in Excel, PowerPivot, SharePoint
  • SAS Enterprise Business Intelligence Platform
  • Markit, Stata, SQL Services Analysis Services experience
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required agency clearance

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Active Public Trust
  • Master's degree in business, finance, computer science, statistics or related field and 5 years of experience
  • Bachelors Degree is a plus

Details

Target Salary Range: $86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
